The Norbreck Hotel by Compass Hospitality

Very good location, with excellent sea views.

There was no key available so we could not enter our room independently. We needed to go to reception and ask someone to let us into our room.

We’ve stayed here before so it meets our expectations

Parking is a massive problem especially as thy have an area in front of the hotel inaccessible to vehicles

Didn’t like the fact that the hotel staff didn’t change our bed sheets everyday and didn’t empty the bins. Neither did they change the tea/coffee cups and provide us with more. When we asked for an iron they wasn’t able to provide us with one.

Great views form breakfast room over bay.

Basic, poor quality continental breakfast. No shelf or unit to put toiletries in bathroom. Cheap slippery vinyl floor in bathroom.

We stay often at the norbeck and as always the staff where brilliant the room was clean and tidy.

The heating was on throughout the hotel which made our room ( 118) literally to hot sleep even with the window open

Bar was expensive Had no key card for door reasons unknown.

I really likes the sea view and able to see the sea and sunset. Also we had a friend (seagull) named birdie. Birdie always loves my attention when he came to the window daily.

Bed were uncomfortable for us. The bed were too close to the desk and not easy to get pass. There was moulds on celling in the bedroom and some in the bathroom. Heaters in both rooms were on really really hot, even I turned the dial down to '0' and its still hot. I made a complaint 4 times and still hasn't turned off when we have asked them to. They tells me that the main were turned off apparently it still on. I even got manager to come into our room to check it. We used the fan that was in the cupboard - very dirty and dusty, not good for my asthma. Breakfast - wasn't happy about allday breakfast was mention on my booking that we expecting it during the week. Never got told about breakfast menu being changed on arrival. Allday breakfast were only serve at weekend only. When I had all day breakfast, there was only sausage, bacon, egg and baked beans. The baked beans were cold! When we turned up the next day, the breakfast they had was fruit, yoghurt, ham, egg, cheese, toast, cereal and that was it. We wasn't happy and manage to get our week breakfast money back to eat elsewhere. We were disappointed about this hotel and will be not visiting there again.
