"The Thistles is like a hug in a mug"

The Thistles was small but perfectly formed, it was warm clean and cosy and the owners were friendly and welcoming. The best thing though was its location, it was literally 10 minutes away from caythorpe which is where my son and his family live.

There wasn't anything we didn't like it was all good.

Lovely, clean and comfortable. Easy to park and pick up keys. Everything had been thought of - even some milk in the fridge!

Claypole is such a delightful village, so quiet and peaceful. The Thistles is an ideal location for us who visit Balderton on a regular basis. We'll be coming back, for sure!

"I would definitely stay again , but not in winter!"

I think the property was clean , tidy and had all the facilities to make it the perfect place for a short stop over.

However, I found the heating in the property to be inadequate to the extent that I has to put my clothes on during the night to get to sleep. There is a ceiling heater which I had on all night and the room thermometer never went above 15.5 C. A fan heater was provided but this would make it too noisy to sleep. The bed itself felt cold and had a slight damp feeling to it. Such a shame and I think if the property had underfloor heating it would no issue at all.

"What a great place !"

What a lovely place! Modern, clean and well presented. Lovely comfortable bed and shower great too. It was everything we needed for an overnight stay at nearby Stubton Hall for a wedding . Check in was so easy and the hosts were really accomodating to allow us to check in a bit earlier . Very highly recommemded
