So let’s start off with the positives , The location is really good, right in the city centre and walkable distance to some nice cafes and restaurants. It’s also very handy that it’s right next to the Marriott as it’s an easy landmark for tour guides to navigate to and from. Also I want to shout out Omega and Shariff who work in the apartment block and were very helpful with helping us acclimatise and suggesting local spots to watch the football, grab something to eat etc. They were both very helpful!

Unfortunately, on arrival I had booked a driver through our host who was not there when we arrived (even though our flight was delayed) we had to wait for 40mins for the driver to reach us and on arrival he didn’t seem to know where he was going and we had to direct him on Google maps. Also no one checked how much luggage we had so it was a bit of a struggle to get everything in the vehicle. When we arrived the flat was full of mosquitos- we arrived late at night so didn’t have time to go to a store to buy bug spray. The repellents that were plugged into the wall in the bedrooms were both finished and hadn’t been replaced. The apartment itself has a kitchen that is grossly under equipped. There are no kitchen utensils to cook with, not even a decent chopping knife or spatula. The cooker is both electric and gas. On the second night of our stay we noticed the gas hobs did not work and there was no microwave. The owner did however rectify this on the same day but it was a bit annoying that this wasn’t checked before we arrived. The hot water continues to be intermittent, someone else wrote this on their review a few months back and it seems this hasn’t been fixed. In both the showers there is a drainage issue and the water takes a long time to go down. The safe in the master bedroom does not work and was not fixed whilst we were there. The light in the second bedroom kept flickering but again was fixed pretty quickly after we reported it. Another thing to note is that the owner does prefer you to pay cash and in USD once you are there, so come prepared. I found it difficult to get USD from the local forex exchanges that I tried. Lastly, we stupidly made the mistake of leaving our bedroom door open on a day where we were out all day. When we got back we noticed that the cleaner had come, and my husbands tracksuit bottoms that were rested on the chair were missing.

It was clean and quite good location and value for money. I liked Iza Serene City Centre Apartments though finding it was very difficult as there’s No sign up to show it’s an Apertment but we later did after making rounds in the Area. I would recommend to Friends and I will come back next time

What I didn’t like was difficult to locate and Staff were nice but never there to help when you need them. I recommend you should have a small office on site.

Nothing that I can say I didn’t like but I feel there can be some improvement on a couple of things. Otherwise good

The host accommodated us checking in 2 hours early and was on site at the agreed time. There were reports of problems checking in by previous guests so providing an arrival time may help. The location is quiet, a lovely part of Kigali, next to the Chinese embassy and near shops and cafes. The apartment was clean with a modern style and the bed very comfortable.

Unfortunately, we cut our stay short due to the following: 1- There was no hot water and no reply from Honorine ( deputy manager) when we immediately highlighted the issue. 2- TV only provided 1 French speaking football channel. 3- The room is on the 6th floor (602) directly opposite the lift so was quite noisy in the evening with guests coming and going. 4- The apartment advertised a washing machine ( the main reason for choosing it) but actually only provides a laundry service which is very expensive. 5- The electric kettle didn’t switch off causing the handle to get extremely hot and was loose. 6- During the evening we had a number of blackouts, when the electricity went off. 7- Poor customer service, as Honorine was only concerned about the payment which was cash only and would make NO reduction due to the issues highlighted.
