It is basic and good value for money. It was quiet and clean, bathroom and shower clean and worked well. It is fine for a budget stay. We just needed a place that was reasonably central to sleep and get showered and turned around and it was fine for that.

It is a budget place so you et what you pay for, but it is perfectly good for the price

New, large bathroom. Comfortable beds. Coffee/tea. Helpful and kind gentleman who worked at the front desk.

Carpet, numerous emails from the property.

The location in a quiet Jesmond residential street was quite good; it was a 5 minute walk to Osborne Rd / Acorn Rd and the Q3 Bus into the city centre / quayside, and Pizzeria Francesca is right around the corner. The car parking at the back of the accommodation had several spaces free so we were able to leave the car there for the duration of our stay, which was very useful as the entire area is restricted and permit-holder parking otherwise and I would have had to move the car some distance away to park.

The room (No. 23) itself was nothing like the room pictured in the booking and was cramped and sparsely decorated with basic chipboard furniture, a chair with a wobbly leg, and a small high window in the corner looking out over the back alleyway. The beds had very thin cheap duvets, one mattress was ok but the other was far too hard, the TV had only the most basic of channels of which over half weren't tuned in correctly or missing (no major BBC channels for example) and the Wi-Fi was appallingly weak and slow - we were just about able to use our mobile internet in the rooms but we only had intermittent signal as it was buried in the middle of the building. The bathroom facilities were relatively clean and new but there was no soap, shower gel, shampoo, conditioner or anything at all to clean ourselves with, which meant we had to purchase it ourselves just to be able to use the toilet and wash our hands. Towels and tea / coffee facilities were provided but it was the bare minimum - it was also really strange not to have plug sockets near the beds so we had to charge our phones using the one free plug by the kettle or the extension lead hidden inside a cupboard under the TV. We also had an issue shortly after booking where an extra unmentioned £15 payment was listed on top of what we had paid booking.com (which told us it was a complete price), but thankfully this hidden fee was dropped after I queried it with Properties Unique. They said they were having some issues with booking.com, but ultimately that is for them to resolve and not to pass on to the customer to sort out.

Ease of checking in once I understood the instructions. Email with instructions was quite long so hard to find the relevant information. Location for GNR was good Quiet location

The bedroom door was very stiff to open - door catches on the carpet and would be very difficult to open in a fire. The floors are very thin so could hear people moving above. I was next to the stairs and the door from stairs to the rooms banged very loudly. Lack of car parking
