Coastal Retreat at Waterside Park

The space was exactly what we needed

A bit tired and dated

Very last minute booking and we were very pleased we got a location at such last notice (10pm Friday night during a heatwave busy weekend). Very good room sizes and layout and great location and facilities. Staff very friendly and there was a band and entertainment in the evening which was lovely.

Some of the rooms backed onto the car parking which was a bit noisy as an alarm went off but otherwise quiet. The bathroom needs some minor updating but otherwise clean and good standard. There were some spiders inside the property, likely due to windows left open for heat circulation. The bedding and towels minimally rough in texture but all clean and comfortable otherwise.

We had No 26 and 27 for our two families. Ideal and worked well. Location was great, particularly the use of the pool on site for 2 grandchildren.

Considering the house was for 5 people, there were only 4 dining chairs. Not enough hanging space for all towels. Hook on bathroom doors would be useful. Washing machine smoked, but Richard had that seen to very quickly. Thanks. Cupboard under kitchen sink needs attention. Insufficient crockery and cutlery in both houses, so had to keep 'borrowing' from each other. ( It was quite good fun, but that's not the point!)

Considering both houses were for 5 people: No 26 only had 3 dining chairs, and sofas only seated 4 people. Also in 26, a plug on a lamp had a hole in it. The toilet seat needed replacing, as the fixing bolts were loose and would not stay tigh,t, so unsafe. There was. a lack of hanging facilities in 2 of the bedrooms. Nowhere to hang all towels.

Location.

It was filthy. Cobwebs everywhere, hairs on the bed sheets, bits of rubbish in the main bedroom, blinds in the main bedroom wouldn’t close all the way, batteries not working in the remote. It said there were arcades but we were told they had been closed due to new owners taking over the entertainment. There wasn’t much to do apart from swimming.

Hosts have been very accommodating and a pleasure to deal with. We extended our stay here.

Location

Very disappointed, very dirty. Bathroom filthy they even left a soap after previous gusts. I spend over an hour to clean so my kids could use bathroom.
