AULocation is perfect. Not a very busy area but easy (walking) access to shops and food. Easily walkable from Gion station to Hakata station via underground path (560m).
The only discomfort we had was the late room cleaning during our stay. They started late (after 4pm and didn’t finish until 5.45). To be fair, they did a very thorough job but we would have been happy if they just changed the towels and bed sheets. If you come back from your day outing while they are cleaning, there’s nowhere to sit except the small lobby downstairs. Just a comment, not the worse thing in the world to wait.
