Slow Living Guesthouse and Hostel

We love slow living! We have been travelling Sri Lanka for 2 months and this is easily our favourite we have been, the garden is beautiful and filled with loads of organic food the owners cook with, mongoose and monkeys playing under palm trees and kitten come to play every dinner time, a lagoon next to the apartment, you feel like your in a nature retreat. The rooms are clean and beds were amazing, comes with a mosquito net for every bed and a big fan in each room, the owner asanka is the best host we have ever met, used to be a chef and cooks the best Sri lankan food for you, he even does cooking classes. We loved our stay we extended it for afew extra days. Your also very near beaches and bus stops so you can travel along the coast easily. Honestly don't have a bad word to say, 100% recommend to anyone in Sri Lanka, we love you asanka!

Amazing hostel. I extended my stay because I liked it so much. It’s very cosy. The Sri Lankan family that runs the property are very kind, friendly and makes you feel at home and cooked fresh and healthy food. Thanks to this hostel I made many new friends and had a great time.

The owner was super nice and he prepared a great breakfast for me, even though I was too early! Mosquito net over the bed

Matress and cushion were very hard, bed was too short for me (1.80m) and there was no blanket. The hostel is right next to the railway with a crossing, so everytime it passes it also honks, which is very loud. There were no power sockets in the room. No AC.

Nothing particular Could be a bit loud with the train near by or during the day they have some construction going on for a new building but nothing to worry or complain about !!

Beautiful guesthouse tucked away from the busy main street. Only 3 beds in the dorm so it‘s not too cramped. The beach just on the other side of the street is great for swimming. The owner is lovely and makes sure you‘re well fed during breakfast. Would stay here again :)

Super super nice kind hosts. It's like Mi Casa Su Casa vibes. I had an AMAZING meal cooked for me free of charge. Best curry I have had so far in 3 weeks. Room was also pretty comfortable, and overall the place was really tranquil.

Only I think the charging ports maybe are not working so well and were in weird locations so I had some trouble charging my things which wasn't great. I got eaten by mosquitos and I didn't know how to get back inside when I came home late one note but I'd say these pretty minor points.
