APPARTAMENTO LA FONTANA DI ASSISI

There was a significant number of steps to get to the apartment and our group couldn’t do it so we couldn’t even stay at the property We were given the keys and we’re not taken to the property by the manager and had a very difficult time finding it the whole experience was very negative. We ended up losing a lot of our money

The location is amazing… perfect place from which to explore Assisi. The apartment is a good size, perfectly clean and had good bathrooms and the added touch of toiletries. The host is very pleasant but has just had a baby so was a bit stressed!

Two things to note. This property has a lot of photos of the pool on the booking.com site and this is why we chose it. We knew it was a short drive and hired a car so that we could have a dip every day BUT … the pool is shared with a large villa which is split into apartments…… AND the owner has to meet you there to let you in the gate! When we tried to go to the pool we were told there was a group of 25 who had hired the villa and the pool was very busy. So … in reality the pool was not available at all to us and even when we asked if we could swim when the huge group were out, we were pretty much ignored. The pool should be taken off booking.com if it is so hit and miss as to when you can use it. It is misleading. We went once, were made to feel very uncomfortable when the huge group was there, and gave up asking! Also, if you are thinking of doing a lot of cooking it would be quite a frustrating kitchen to work in….,not a lot of room and quite a few broken items.

Great apartment in beautiful Assisi. Big, with greatvunit for our teenage girl. Great nice pool but you should know- requires a car, since it is 15 minutes a way.

Cleaning can improve

Location was amazing! The view from my room overlooked the plaza!

The beds were very firm and I did not expect an extra $63 euro cleaning fee. But other than those two things the apartment was very spacious and comfortable!

We loved the stunning entrance walkway. My 78 year old mum was not phased by the stairs thankfully, all with handrail support. The living space was fine, and the small kitchen had everything we needed, bar wine glasses but we had plenty of options for a glass of wine out in the many great restaurants and bars so close by. The location was unbeatable. Bedrooms all spacious, even the slightly lower-roofed ensuite upper bedroom. The view of Piazza del Comune from the master bedroom was breathtaking. Cristina was a fabulous hostess in every way. Xxx.

The bells were the only slight disturbance to our fantastic stay, but we also loved them. Couldn't figure out the frequency, quarter to the hour, past the hour, on the hour!

While this apartment is in a marvelous location, it is not as advertised. The swimming pool that appears on the post is in another place altogether, at several kilometers distance. In addition, the apartment is a renovation of a very old building in the ancient center of town on the top floor which requires many flights of stairs and was musty. When we arrived there after considerable effort with our luggage we experienced a physical reaction or allergy to the enclosed space so uncomfortable that we chose to leave immediately. Christine, the owner, is well-meaning but very busy so we felt rushed in every interaction with her.

Spacious and comfortable , great location.

Would be very helpful to have a second set of keys.
