Cottage in North Somerset

The Byre is one of the nicest cottages we have stayed in. We were most impressed by the comfort, the facilities and the decor of the cottage. There is a rather nice garden attached with furniture but the weather prevented us from enjoying it. We can recommend this property to anyone staying in the area.

The weather

Beautifully clean. Heating was quick and efficient. Owner was very helpful with joining instructions. Nice to find beer in the fridge and biscuits on the counter.

The large saucepan has a copper bottom so doesn't work on the induction hob. The shower was very slow to drain.

What a little gem! We normally struggle to find good accommodation in the area but this was excellent. Great location, everything clean and tidy and the superb comms from the host (Liz). Made us feel very welcome. Thank you for a great stay, we loved it.

We had a good night's sleep, so please don't take this as a negative at all and I would call this section 'anything which could be improved?' (we would book again immediately if we had to be in the area again)... The bed was comfortable but the mattress is perhaps coming towards the end of life. It certainly wouldn't deter us from recommending this lovely place but maybe something to keep an eye on?

Lovely cottage, plenty of room for the 4 of us, very quiet and peaceful, perfect stop for us on our cycle from John O Groats to Lands End. Thoughtful touches made us feel very welcome.

The location is central to Clevedon and local beauty spots, also Bristol. Close location to M5 excellent for days out to Wales, Cotswold. Devon etc. The property itself is beautiful, very spacious inside with beautiful outdoor spaces. Tame chickens and other animals visiting at their leisure. Well equipped to meet our needs. Very private but near the owners should we have needed anything.

I cannot think of anything negative. If I wanted to be really picky I would say a slightly earlier check in and later check out. ( we did run a little late checking out but the owner was very understanding)

Felt very cosy not fancy but perfect lovely place to sit in the sunshine in the garden . Was met by 3 lovely hens

Could have done with a freezer box in fridge ,not essential

It had a good layout . Was good for a short stay the bedroom was suitable for a family 1 large kingsize bed . The other beds were futons not comfortable. Kitchen was well equipped. Be sure to take toiletries ..

Would have been helpful to have had milk for a tea or coffee on arrival . Nearest shop was a car journey away and as we found accommodation difficult to find as postcode took us to 3 different locations we were really tired on arrival . Follow owners instructions rather than postcode as if you're travelling there at night would be frustrating . Booked the cottage as our grandson is autistic and didnt want an hotel (animals were very thin on the ground ) Snack box was available but with a charge .
