Mai chau Horizon Homestay

One of the best stays I had in Vietnam. This homestay is located in the ideal spot: you can reach many restaurants and shops by walk, but it is also rightly tucked away from all the noise. I recommend booking the king room with a view very early in advance, they have just one available, but the view from this room was fantastic! One could even open the windows, and the fresh air is really refreshing. Air conditioning worked well (it is needed if you travel from Feb to Oct), the days get quite warm. The private bathroom was good. Breakfast was bread, egg and fruit (banana). This is the standard breakfast that one would get at most of the homestays in Vietnam. I also had dinner here on both days of my stay. The food was excellent, fresh, and did not upset my stomach at all. The owner and the people living here are extremely friendly. Also, I suggest getting a bike on rent from them. That way, you do not need a deposit or passport and also, you could leave the bike back with them at the end. I also booked a bus with them to Ninh Binh, which was awesome and costed me 250k VND, which is lesser than what was being shown to me online. Overall, a great experience. Would definitely return here on my next trip to Mai Chau.

Amazing Homestay run by a lovely and welcoming family. We enjoyed our stay, the room was as described and in great location (various restaurants and cafes close by). Our room had an incredible view over mountains and rice fields. Breakfast was cooked fresh every morning and we were offered tea all the time. Dinner is available (at an extra charge) which was one of the best meals we had while in Vietnam! It was home cooked and just delicious (keep in mind that they need some notice in advance - check with the host). The family made us feel very welcome, we even joined them for a birthday celebration, sharing laughter and cake. They also organised our onward travel for us. We can definitely recommend staying there!

Every think perfect..

Location was excellent, plenty of places to eat/drink nearby, main road a short walk away. The property was clean, comfortable bed, drying rack for clothes. Bread served with breakfast, possibly the best bread I've had.

Shower & toilet in the same room. Not the hosts fault, it's just a thing in Vietnam unfortunately. Also, a lot of smoke due to burning nearby.

The family of the guests house is very nice and welcoming.

The mattress of the dormitory was a little too hard for my back.

Great host! The whole family has been super kind and helpful! :) We felt very welcome and would absolutely return. Enjoyed a home cooked meal one night which was delicious. Scooter was 150k per day, bikes 50k per day. Both worked well. Plenty of chill out areas in the accommodation, perfect location in a lovely village too, right in nature but close to restaurant and shopping options. Some reviews complain about the breakfast being the same every day, baguette with omelette, but we absolutely loved it!! Super tasty
