Mai chau Horizon Homestay

Hosts were amazing !

My absolute favorite homestay from my entire month in Vietnam. Such a lovely family, always eager to help with everything they had. They even prepared breakfast for me at 1 AM before my Mai Chau race. When no other buses were available, they found one for me. They were always there whenever I needed anything. The rooms look just like in the pictures, not all private rooms have a mountain view so double check on that. On top of that, if something wasn’t working, they’d fix it within minutes. Good A/C, great facilities, and an excellent location close to everything in Mai Chau.

The beds are exceptionally firm even for someone like me, who usually sleeps on the firmest mattress possible. If you prefer a softer bed, this might be a downside

Beautiful traditional house. Friendly hosts who cooked an amazing dinner and breakfast. Shower had hot water. Big mosquito net to go over the bed. Constantly being offered green tea which helped to warm me up on a chilly evening.

The bed was a little hard for my liking.

Breakfast was nice. Location and staff was great.

The shared bathroom on the second floor could be cleaner. No hand soap provided. No one seems to refill the toilet paper until you go to the bathroom, find out it has run out, need to go down two floors and ask for more. We booked a room with mountain view, but the one we got was more like village view, still ok, but definitely not what I expected from the pictures.

The hosts were extremely kind and helpful. The location was great, the room was very clean and big. We really appreciate our stay and we recommend it greatly! Plus, the views of the mountains all around the building are just WOW!

The bed was a bit hard.

We slept in the shared room of the typical stilt house and it was amazing. The family was really warming and welcoming, we had dinner with them and it was delicious

This family is composed of grandparents, parents and two adorabile girls. Everybody was so nice and tried to accommodate all my needs. The grandfather prepared a great plentiful vegetarian meal just for me and I was able to have dinner with the entire family. They went the extra mile to find the perfect bicycle for me and I spent a full day riding in the nearby villages. The dorm room is very large and the futons are very cozy. Prices are incredibly honest. I highly recommend this homestay, as it gives you a chance to meet a wonderful Vietnamese family. Thank you!!!!

All was perfect!

Having stayed here makes me appreciate more when a host actually knows what he's doing. As apposed to the staff here, that are complete amateurs. The view is nice from the room but was our only positive thing.

If you are doing construction, concrete drilling and shutting off the water between 06:00 and 18:00, you should block bookings from booking. If you forgot, you should when guests arrive, apologise for your mistake and offer to cancel the booking from your end. We should have left when we were told that there would be no water for a couple hours but a couple hours turned into no water until 17.30 pm and no water the next morning.
