Room was very clean. Comfy firm bed

Location is good on the edge of Melrose. Grounds and exterior look good.

Internal communal areas are very run down and there is something of an unpleasant smell about the place.

Needs refurbished Room floors are soft and creak consistently. Bathroom light switch pull cord snapped near the switch. Door key lock struggled to take the key and needed to be manipulated to eventually get the key to fit. Hand soap dispenser didn't work, you needed to lift the lid and sqeese the bottle.

Parking was good.

Construction outside my windows and noisy neighbours when i requested a quiet room. Place is really run down. Heat in my room did not work. Restaurant service wasnt great and food was terrible (poor flavour, pre-made, sitting under heatlamps).

Nice comfortable clean room, staff were pleasant, good selection at the bar. I only used the hotel as a base for a weekend of motorbike riding.

Hallway and stairs and other furnishings were abit dated. Not much of a view from our window room 111 an inside view with scaffolding, it looks like they were carrying out exterior renovations.

Breakfast was very good , Food was very good and very goo value for money. The staff were kind and helpful. the hotel was shabby but clean.

Hotel room spotlessly clean , comfortable, staff very good . Entertainment good , location great for exploring area , and plenty of parking .lots of improvements been done since last visit by new owners.

Booked on bed and breakfast, but was disappointed with the breakfast , I ordered scrambled egg on toast , my wife ordered some fried breakfast, it took over 1/2 an hour to get because coach parties were getting preference , when our breakfast came , I was given 1 slice of toast with what was supposedly scrambled egg , it was awful, my wife's breakfast was very greasy , hence we left the following day without breakfast , we would return on room only next time and go out for a proper breakfast .

Hot shower. Plenty parking. Good location Staff were 10/10 couldn’t be any better. Iva ? The new bar maid was fantastic so happy and cheery. Entertainment was not for my age group but was very good. Overall bar cost was resonable

Public areas were very tired and need updating. Room was fairly rough being honest. Previous leaks in roof highly noticeable,windows very draughty but warm room wallpaper peeling off. Pipe boxing in bathroom burst and swollen with water holes in ceiling from old fittings. Bathroom door is a slide door so not fully private or lockable shower was hot but pressure was very poor. Evening meal choice is very small and wasn’t to out choice so went elsewhere.
