Chilled out atmosphere, lovely walk there (hot but lovely), comfortable beds. Loved the coconut shell shower. Great riverside location. Staff so friendly. Fantastic masseuse and great 'spa' bath. Our main guide Anwan was really good. Great flexibility on our trek and took brilliant care of us all. All round great place, rustic but great !

Ran out of chicken, tofu and tempeh for dinner on our last night. Menu selection could have been better.

L'endroit est juste magique, perdu au milieu de la jungle de Sumatra à 30-45 minutes de marche du village de Bukit Lawang, chaque chambre donne sur la jungle et la rivière. Je conseille absolument aux visiteurs souhaitant être coupé du monde pendant plusieurs jours !

Die Leute waren super nett. die Natur ist herrlich und man schaltet 2 Gänge runter. das Spa und vor allem die Massage habe ich sehr genossen.

This is the perfect place to experience the real jungle! The hike is a bit hard with carry on luggage but if you are bringing hiking backpacks you will be fine…the rooms are very comfortable and clean and the food is amazing…is located by the river so at night you sleep with the noise of the water running and they also have a great spot to go on the water, we really enjoyed that! We extended our stay one more night to enjoy the place and it was completely worth it! The staff is amazing…thanks so much for making our stay so special 🙏

We had an amazing stay at Back to Nature. What makes this place truly special is that you get a real jungle experience while still being relatively close to Medan. For us, this was exactly the reason to travel to Sumatra. The location is beautiful, surrounded by nature, and it really feels like you are part of the jungle. The food was delicious and the people were incredibly kind and welcoming. When we mentioned that our children wanted to try fishing, they immediately arranged two fishing rods for them. We also did a two day jungle trek, which turned out to be one of the highlights of our entire trip. If anything, we wish we had stayed longer just to enjoy the place itself and to do more excursions, like visiting the giant flower. The hotel also helped us arrange transport from Medan and to Lake Toba, which worked very smoothly. It is a bit basic and requires a walk to reach, but that is exactly what adds to the charm. This is the kind of place you keep thinking about after you leave. We would definitely love to come back.

The lodge is at the end of a wonderful path on the river, far away from town to feel closest to nature. Everything is beautifully made, the garden, restaurant and especially the cabin I booked! The chef is lovely, and cooks very well, everyone is nice, and caring. I loved this place! The owner was always responsive and very helpful he also helped me get the right public bus from Medan! (Better to ask to avoid hassle and overpaying)

I liked everything, I chose a remote place, and expected there could be small issues. My priority was a beautiful place, close to nature, and it delivered beyond expectations! Electricity, water, and wifi cut off a few times, so if you want comfort/or reliable connection, maybe this isn’t the best choice. But it’s truly special!

Położenie jest niesamowite dlatego daje 10, spałem jak dziecko, wygodny materac i poduszka, moskitiera miała dużo dziur po zgłoszeniu załoga załatwiła nową. Miejsce do komfortowych nie należy, ale jest cudne.

Back to Nature was in a great location in the jungle. It was very private and had beautiful wild surroundings. We saw many monkeys daily. All the staff were very friendly and helpful. We took the 2 night, 3 day trek through the property and Coco and Pekri were fun and knowledgeable guides. The trek was such an enjoyable experience that we will never forget. I got a massage from Caterpillar after our trek and it was great and needed. If you want to stay in a beautiful natural place, this is a perfect choice.

Since it is a 30 min walk town, you will need to walk to go to different restaurants and to do anything in town. Back to Nature has porter services for your bags if you need help carrying them. There was only cold water in the shower in our bungalow. The property does offer a free warm herbal bath at the spa area. Unfortunately there was a lizard in the ceiling of our bungalow that made a lot of loud barking noises at night.

Back to Nature is a very special place to stay, next to the river, in the jungle. The staff is exceptional and the food good. They can assist in trekking and other activities in the area and go out of their way to make your stay the best. The river is the best for cooling off after a day trekking or exploring. Rooms are clean and fresh with fans and nets, the couple villa (a little trek up the mountain) has perfect views of the forest Rather stay here than a busy overcrowded town, can still visit town only a 20 minutes scenic walk Highly recommended
