Casitas del Titicaca Peru

We liked very much the view from our room and the hosts which are very friendly and fun. We had nice activities of fishing and touring the islands with one of the hosts (included in the price). He explained us also the history and customs of the Uros. The food (all meals were included in the price) was also tasty. They were able to accommodate for my gluten allergy.

When the sun sets the room gets freezing cold. With the 3-4 layers of blankets provided one sleeps with no issue but a heater would be welcome. Also there is no flush for #2 in the toilet (you use dirt to cover it up - cat style).

Staying at Casitas was one of the most memorable travel experiences we’ve ever had, and we’ve travelled a lot. It was so special to be staying right on a floating island and to learn about the ways of the Uros people. Our host Eder was warm and gracious and happy to answer all of our questions. The food was plentiful and fresh, lovingly made by Mama and served by Dad. The room had a cozy king size bed and comfy chairs to enjoy the view. We loved sitting out on the Balinese style bed outdoors during the day. Eder took us out fishing and on a long tour of the Uros islands, teaching us about their ways. Two nights there on the island was perfect.

It was very cold at night but cozy in the bed with plenty of blankets. It was hard to get up in the mornings to a very cold room! The room warmed up considerably by the time the strong sun was shining into it.

Loved the luxury king sized bed and jacuzzi room !

The room is very big with a wonderful view. The beds are comfy. Eder and Mama kept us comfortable and fed us very well. Eder showed us around the community and shared his stories with his genuine thoughts. He also managed to book us a tour to Taquile and transferred our luggage to our next hotel. Really lovely stay overall!

Eder and Felipe are really kind and sweet. Made us feel home from day one. Also arranged perfectly pickup and drop off. My husband enjoyed a lot fishing with Eder, who took us out on the puma boat. The ride to the Uros islands with Felipe was very informative too. The room is beautiful with an amazing view on the lake. The food was tasty and abundant. I would recommend this place!

While we didn't freeze during the night and the heater and duvets kept us warm, it was very cold in the morning with no hot water (probably because temperature dropped during night). Not a big issue for us as we left early but might be a problem if staying for more than one night.

This is such an unique experience staying on a floating island at Titicaca lake. It was very serene and calm. Eder and his family took very good care of us. We went on fishing and touring around the community with Eder. The place is clean, well maintained and the meals are all super delicious. Simple food but very well prepared (honestly I missed the food after traveling to other cities).

None; It’s important to remember the accommodation is on an floating island so facilities aren’t as good the accommodation in the city (e.g. no hairdryer, a dry compote toilet…) It doesn’t really trouble us, and Eder and his family made sure we are well taken care of

The location is stunning - waking up on a floating island is simply incredible. The host was lovely and the food was exeptional Everyone needs a visit to Lake Titicaca
