"Enriching experience"

8.0

The experience was truly out of a kind. It was humbling and enriching to discover more about the Uro community and lifestyle. All that said, the accommodation had a feel of luxury to it. The host was amazing and his hospitality was exceptional. On the day when we left to Bolivia he organized breakfast for us at 5:30 AM and waited with dinner until 10 PM. All of the water transfers and lake bank-terminal transfers were included in the all inclusive option. The host’s English was great and the trips he offered were extremely interesting. On the island you could also buy souvenirs made by the local community to further support them. This was also the only stay in Peru where the host accommodated my partner’s request for adding onion to an omelette.

Booking.com check out hours are 12PM, however the host told us that the check out time is 10AM. It did not make big of a difference as there was no reservation on our room and we could stay until 12PM anyway, but it made us feel uncomfortable. The food offered in the all inclusive option was okay, definitely nothing to write home about but we have a suspicion that we got food poisoning during this stay, as the last night and the checkout day (and the following day for my partner) were spent mostly in the toilet.

"I'm gonna be recommending this place to everyone who wants to go to Titicaca"

10.0

This was one of the best trips that we did while we were in Peru, the rooms are quite big, they're very nice and clean. When we were there, it wasn't extremely cold, so we were fine with all the blankets we had in the rooms. Eder is a very good host. He runs the hotel with his family. He took us to show how they lived and what they ate. He also took us to see the community of the Uros islands, told us about their history, what they have been through, and they're going through as Uros people. He was so nice and kind like the rest of his family. The food... we ate one of the best fish (trucha) that we have ever eaten in our lives. My sister doesn't like fish, and even she didn't even leave a single piece on her plate. We had breakfast, lunch and dinner and all of them were very, very good. We were very satisfied with our stay.

Nothing. We only stayed a night, but if you stay longer the water heat and the toilet might disturb you, because the water gets heated only if there is sun and if there isn't the water is really cold, we couldn't take a shower for example, and the toilet is an eco toilet which doesn't have an hydraulic system because you're on a man-made island. It's okay to experience it we didn't have any problem, but again, we only stayed a night.

"A Truly Authentic Experience - 10/10 Recommend"

10.0

Just wow, what an incredible place. The location is STUNNING. The room is beautiful. The bed is insanely comfy. The food is great. The host family are the best - the tour and fishing trip with Eder was a highlight of our whole trip (after a couple of months travelling) it was a truly authentic experience. It’s a little on the more expensive side but amazing value for money.

Obviously the WiFi/4G isn’t great out here, but for us this was perfect to relax and switch off.

"A really magical moment of our Peru trip and most amazing cultural immersion experience of my life"

10.0

I really loved everything: the location, the cabana, the food, the views, and especially the hosts. Eder and his family are the kindest and mindful hosts I have ever met, always willing to provide you the best services and immerse you in their culture. The cultural immersion was the best part: Eder took us fishing and told us the history of the Uros Islands and the Casitas del Titicaca, his mom took us on a boat ride to visit "the comunidad" - other household islands in their community. On one of these islands, native women told us stories about their history and played traditional songs. The family really goes far and beyond to make you feel comfortable and part of their family. I definitely recommend the Casitas del Titicaca and hope to return there one day!
