Green House In Vazisubani

I stayed here twice for about 10 days each time. The apartment is the top floor of an old cinder block house. It does not look very cheery from the outside, but it is just as good as and almost certainly bigger than almost any place you can find in the city center for a comparable price. The space is austere but clean; the mattresses seem fairly new. All of the equipment works and nothing is half-broken or hanging by a thread. The wifi is quite functional and there are two apparently independent networks available--once one of the networks was down for several hours, as happens periodically in Tbilisi, but the other one continued to work. The view across the valley to Shavnabada monastery--which is invisible from the city center--is worth taking in, especially at night. Importantly for winter time, the hot water is very good--the best I experienced in Tbilisi, by which I mean: 1. The water becomes hot instantly. 2. It stays hot--none of my showers went cold partway through. 3. It maintains a stable temperature--I did not have to constantly fiddle with the knob to counteract fluctuations in temperature. 4. The water pressure is strong. There is only one heater for the whole apartment in the bedroom, however it keeps the bedroom quite toasty, and if you leave the bedroom door open the rest of the space will not get very cold. Finally, there are plenty of food shopping options at the intersection at the start of the road that leads to the house.

The location is not at all optimal if you plan to explore the city, although you could still commute every day for sightseeing if you were very motivated, since bus and metro transportation options are abundant. One needs 60-90 minutes from the door to reach places in and around the city center. If you just want to hole up somewhere for a while, though, this place is good.

The apartment is very spacious with a great view of Tbilisi in a very pleasant neighborhood. The apartment has everything you need for living and the host is very kind and accommodating. There is also a pleasant garden for relaxing.
