Commander Suites de Bohol

What a fantastic resort! It's away from the crowds and the usual tourists. I had a lovely room with a large bed, excellent air conditioning, and a good shower. The small fridge held most sizes of bottles and snacks. The resort is quiet and lovely. I would 100% recommend this resort above the usual suspects' sites, so long as you are not expecting the beach 2 feet away from your door. The staff were so friendly and helpful. Oh, and the WiFi is high-speed at around 120Mb. We will certainly return to this venue at a date soon. Breakfast is the only option available, but there are so many food options. I 100% recommend "The Buzz" in the Island City Mall—amazing food and coffee. If you want a Grab, you will want to check out "Oliva's Bistro," as that ticked all the boxes, and the delivered food was hot and lovely. If you need to rent a car, I recommend "Car Rentals Panglao Bohol" and speak to Liz. It's a cheap and reliable service, and she will meet you at the airport. All in all, a great week in Bohol.

We only tried the breakfast option on the first day, and there was a shortage of options, but it did not spoil the lovely resort. The pool is a bit on the deep side if you are not confident in the water.

Very nice facility with amazing garden and nice clean rooms. Staff is very friendly and willing to help. I rented a motorbike and the arranged literally in 15 minutes.

The cost is more or less 95 € / night, which is in comparison to other accommodations in the Philipines not a good value for the money. The location is not great plus right next to main road so could be a little noisy. I recommend to rent a motorbike right away, so you can reach the beach and restaurants or other places. Breakfast is very basic with only instant coffee and savory options. Since it is in the middle of nowhere, it’s a shame that the facility does not offer at least drinks and small snacks so you could hangout by the pool and chill there regardless the weather. You don’t get to enjoy nice garden and great pool, because guests do not tend to stay there during the day or evening because the bar/bistro/restaurant is unfortunately missing. There were also minor issues e.g. hairdryer not working, AC could use a filter change etc. Overall I liked it, but there could be found accommodations with a higher standard for this amount of money (of course depending what you are looking for).

Well maintained resort with just 5 huts (10 rooms), hence no hustle and bustle. Clean room, quite nice pool. Tasty breakfast. Friendly staff. You can hire a tricycle or rent a moped through the hotel staff. A few local shops and bars are available within c. 10 mins walk.

No pool bar, and the pool is too deep for just walking around for fun. Remote location, so you need transport to go to the beach, bars, and sights. The resort is right on the main road, hence traffic is audible, in case you're looking for complete tranquility. No bar or restaurant open after breakfast or in the evening.

1. Staff were a few but they worked really well and didnt feel like they were a few. 2. Breakfast is great, you can order 1 plate per person. Instant coffee available. 3. Room is big, comfy, new, and very private. You only get 1 neighbor in the next wall, sometimes no neighbor depends if no one is in the next room. 4. Pool is big, deep, nicely surrounded with coconut trees. Lots of lounge chairs. 5. Cute chickens and cats in the property.

Just a small thing really not that big issue, bath soap.

The Breakfast was too basic and minimal . Everything about Commander was a 10 . Breakfast was a 4 in the best of the cases.

Staff were super friendly and very attentive and helpful. The facilities and room were really clean and well kept. Swimming pool was well maintained and looked after. Location was perfect if you like a more peaceful setting compared to the hustle and bustle of Alona. The kind of place you have second thoughts about giving such an amazing review so that you can keep it all to yoursel. We will definitely be back whenever we return to Bohol.
