Charles Court Guest House

Bad from the beginning. Ring the gate bell. No answer. Call the number, uninformed and useless staff who seemed unaware of our booking. Wait 15 minutes for someone to come and open the gate for us. This person did not greet us, had no idea how to operate the property remotes and keys, and gave us very little information. Go into the unit and almost die due to the stench of damp - at least air out the unit before your guests arrive. No aircon (there was a fan so not a train smash), most of the mirrors were cracked/shattered, walls had more cracks than a plumber, one bin for the whole unit, bathroom sink was small and had only a cold tap and they only had 1-ply toilet paper!? The shower was something else, the tap only opened one way - hot - and the temperature could only be changed by turning the dial on the water heater (if you can reach as it was mounted high up), oh and the ceiling above the shower was mouldy. We booked elsewhere the first night and bailed early morning after phoning the number to find out where to hand back the keys. They asked no questions as to why we forfeited a night's stay. I DO NOT recommend this place.

Location was perfect it was close to almost everything

The lack of communication was a significant issue during our stay. We experienced long waits for updates on Wi-Fi and water outages, and no one informed us about the situation. Additionally, the cleanliness of the place did not meet our expectations, as it was not cleaned daily as one would anticipate.

The location was very peaceful and quiet. The hosts were very welcoming and made the stay worth it.

The fact that they were on the premises so we had to be a little more reserved as they had kids there.

Our room was beautiful and had a big space.

The way Tshegofatso welcomed us was so amazing 👌 , she was always there when ever we need anything.

The water from the shower was always cold. To be sent to another guest house while we booked for other one that was very unprofessional even the one that they sent us to have a problem with electricity and the other guests were making a lot of noise we never slept well. We booked Charles Court coz we wanted to be alone and that happened only for 3 nights out of 5 nights. I'm not happy at all .

Nothing

We were in the property we did not book for. The one which is advertised only accommodates 2 adults and we were 3…apparently they took us to the other street where we didn’t even booked.
