Good point of base to visit Stone Town. Very essential place.

The location of the flat is excellent, right in the centre of the old town. I stayed in a double bedroom which was very spacious.

The only reason I mark the apartment down a little is that it didn’t meet my expectations. Booking.com confirmed I had booked the entire apartment, but when I arrived, I could hear someone asleep in the other bedroom. I’m glad I did…otherwise it could have been v embarrassing if I’d wandered out of my bedroom the next morning into the living area, not realising I was sharing it with others! There was then a different person in the living room the next day, so it seemed I’d only booked the bedroom. Just a simple communications mix-up about what had been booked. My flight was late arriving & the hosts were so kind waiting for me until 1am with the key. However, when we finally got into the apartment, it turned out that the bedroom hadn’t been cleaned so the guy had to start at 1am cleaning the room, changing the beds and towels & cleaning the bathroom. The electricity then went off & I felt so sorry for him trying to sort everything in the dark :-( Someone managed to get the electricity back on in the flat the next day. Unfortunately there was no water in the shower either…& I only realised on my last morning that there was a 2nd shower off the living room that I could have used. However, I wasn’t sure if I was supposed to be using the common areas like the living room & kitchen, after the mix-up in the booking. The final thing that was a little tricky was using the key to the front door onto the street. In my 2 day stay I wasn’t successful once in opening the door with the key. I’m usually ok at these things, so I was v grateful that Zanzibar is so friendly and there was always someone on the street that was willing to help me until we’d succeeded to open it :-) The en suite bedroom itself is v spacious and in good condition :-)

Great location. You can storie luggage at the venue. Good and timely communication with the staff.

Really nice people and good location in the center

The window was broken so we could really ear the noisy street it is in. We did not feel safe coming back at night also…

The location is great, directly in the middle of Stone Town. The owner is very nice and helped me with all questions, recommendations and a taxi. The room was perfectly clean and very comfortable. I would always come back here and recommend it a lot.

The room is very central, this comes with some noise at night. It didn't bother us too much, but we were happy to have earplugs.

Right in the heart of Stonetown. Spacious room with excellent kitchen. Good air conditioning and overhead fans in the bedroom. Everything you could want for a very reasonable price.

Incredible location, right at the heart of the Old Town, with a wide array of shops, cafés, restaurants as soon you leave the door. You won't be bored. The apartment is super comfortable and clean, well equipped (AC, fan, fridge, microwave, stove, etc) and has a very local vibe to it. Wahida answered all of our questions in no time and put us in contact with Juma, that drove us around the island for the week, telling us numerous stories, recommending great places and finished by taking us to his local coffee shop and restaurant.

If you're a light sleeper I recommend taking earplugs. The friendly cats that live on the streets can be quite loud at night.
