Vang Vieng Victory Hostel

Everything. The host is the nicest person. She moved us to a ground floor room after noticing we were injured from a scooter accident. Breakfast was delicious and we were so grateful for it. We were so comfortable in our room and seating area just outside the room. We settled into life on the little street with Poppy and all the other local dogs running about. Our host helped us with so much, advice for a local doctor, printing services and more. She also rang our pick-up service several times after they were over an hour late collecting us. Thanks so much, you honestly made our stay in Vang Vieng so much better xx

We liked everything

The staff were lovely and friendly. They had a really cute little dog that made the stay more enjoyable. The air-conditioning unit was old but it worked well and kept the room nice and cool. Plus the fact that there was a key for entry instead of a swipe card meant you could leave the room and come back to a cool room. The shower, despite not being separate from the rest of the bathroom, was actually ok and drained pretty quickly. Breakfast wasn't too bad and was a nice little addition.

The fact that the room was advertised as having a flat screen TV (which it didn't). Not that I really care about that but it shouldn't be advertised if you aren't going to provide it. The main reason for a low rating though is the bed sheets. The doona cover was old and dirty. The bed sheet itself had what looked like a blood stain on it (please see picture below). One of the pillows had some sort of make-up or lipstick mark on it. Also when you stepped outside your room there was at times a distinct smell of urine coming from somewhere (probably not the owners fault though). It was also quite noisy around the area. I really don't like giving low scores and the staff there were very friendly, but I felt it was warranted in this case.

Everything was good. Really, one of the nicest experiences with budget accomodation in SE Asia. And breakfast is included.

Really good hostel and fantastic location in central Vang Vieng. Very friendly and service minded personel.

We was given a room in the basement. However we got upgraded to a family room without asking.

Location was good- close to restaurants and bars. The staff we couldn’t fault- the lady helped us with laundry, our taxi back to the train station and had a load of tours you could book. Breakfast was lovely and had plenty of choice.

The bathroom was the main issue- although clean there was an unbearable drain smell the whole time we were there. No matter what we did we couldn’t get rid of it. There’s nowhere to hang clothes just a coat stand. The door frame to the bathroom is very low- this is no one’s fault but just something to note! Aircon was loud and as there was a gap around the main door you could hear everything around the hostel as well as surrounding streets.

- staff were lovely and really helpful - rooms clean - balcony out front of the room - location good - travel services as well as lots of acitvities, -booked out hot air balloon and transport on with no issues - breakfast basic but nice

- not exactly like the photos, photos styles slightly nicer.
