Kosbys Cottage, Tongariro

Very spacious. The cottage is bigger inside than you think it's going to be. Plenty of room and well equipped. We arrived on a very wet day for one night. The log fire was welcomed. We probably missed the best of the scenary due to heavy clouds, bu the mountain did peek through at one stage. Nice garden too.

Gorgeous garden, cosy accommodation, lovely slow burning wood heater, comfy beds, close proximity to National Park hikes.

Large place - would be great for a family with places for up to 5 to sleep. Great communication, great wifi and great view of the mountain from the kitchen and outside. The hosts recommended Utopia Cafe and it had the best coffee of our 8 day North Island trip. Having a washing machine was a huge bonus. Short drive into town.

The cottage felt a little tired and had an old house scent - this may have been due to the fireplace. The beds were a little hard, no fresh milk for coffee and you need to take all your rubbish away with you.
