West Japan Kyoto Kiyomizu

Fantastic hotel/apartment. It was nice having a full kitchen and a bit more room than your standard Japanese hotel. Check in was a breeze even after hours. It's just a few streets away from Kiyomizu Dera and the accompanying shopping streets! Will definitely stay again!

Five night stay, sightseeing in and around Kyoto. Self catering worked well given multiple local supermarkets and convenience stores. Good public transport links

Clean and convenient to do laundry/cook as all amenities stated are in our room. Lady at reception has been extremely helpful when sending luggage and booking taxis. Of walking distance to tourist attractions too. Fully recommend and will come back again.

Very quite and located right near a few beautiful shrines.

The property is great! Located on the edge of the Gion district - safe and clean. Appointed with washing machine, microwave, small kitchenette, some dining ware and a large bedroom by normal Japanese standards. Easily accessible by the 206 or the 86 bus (230 yen) from Kyoto station and stop right near the kiyomizu-dera temple.

It was amazing to stay in a Machiya house near Kiyomizudera. Very cool but also somehow creepy.

We had a beautiful room on the fifth floor, it was really like a small apartment all to ourselves. We were surprised to find that we even had a large balcony with a great view! Very happy with our stay.

Very well located. Close to temples and tourist locations. Room reasonable for price, cooking and washing facilities a bonus.

The best hotel in our 2.5-week trip! The room was actually an apartment with kitchen, washing machine and a nice balcony. We spent 5 days there, and appreciated the possibility to cook our breakfast, because most cafes nearby open at 9 am. The location is great, with many tourist attractions within walking distance and an easy bus ride to Kyoto train station.

I was super excited to stay at an old fashioned Japanese house during my trip in Japan. This house was about 5 mins walk in a quiet neighborhood away from the hotel. Unfortunately the house is not clean. Super dusty especially in the bedroom. We found an old bandaid on the floor and there were multiple stains on the mattresses. House was poorly ventilated, even with the windows open. We were congested being in the house and instantly relieved once we leave each day. The alley leading to the house could have used a light as we were navigating in the dark.
