Lack of hot water.

This place has only four water villa. You will walk directly into the sea. The staff will make up the room every day. Rashid (the Dutch owner) and his staff are so friendly and customer oriented. I fell sick when I was staying with them. The staff prepared the ginger honey tea for me everyday. This helps me to recover from my fever. The food is a mixture between local and western. I like the breakfast selection. You can walk to the very nice local village from the lodge. There is a beautiful sandy beach after you walked through the local village.

Prachtig verblijf, beste uitzicht wat we hebben gehad. Snorkelen is erg goed, het eten is fantastisch, en de eigenaar en staff maken het verblijf onvergetelijk!

De bungalows waren mooi, het uitzicht prachtig. De vriendelijkheid & flexibiliteit waren geweldig. Het eten was uitmuntend, Europees met een Indonesische touch!

De porties waren eigenlijk te groot, ha, ha.................

Breakfast could have more variety. Yogurt would be nice. Easy to make on site. Nice being over the water and go out the steps to snorkel. Meals were quite nice.

The big problem in Raja Ampat is that sewage from homestays is being dumped into the ocean. This causes too much nitrogen in the water and stresses the coral. This is a serious problem with so many homestays in the area. The coral is dying. My suggestion is that you seriously dig into this problem and help to solve it. There is research out there and ways to correct this problem. One can see the problems with the reef near the houses and the coral is better farther from the houses. Feel free to contact me if you would like to discuss this further. This being said we did have a great time for our stay there, enjoyed the “party” with the dancing. Most of the reefs near the homestays have this problem. Lets correct it and not have a situation like in the carribean where many reefs are gone or almost gone. That is why we are over here to see Indonesia’s beautiful reefs.

Super nette, hilfsbereite Gastgeber mit Herz und Wissen um Raja ampat. Ganz neue Bungalows. Tolles Hausriff zum Schnorcheln und friwen wall zum tauchen vor der Haustür. Leckeres Essen. Super sauber.

We had an incredible stay at Friwen Mangrove in July. After a month in Raja Ampat homestays, Friwen was such a step up ! we were delighted to have varied meals, a pricate bathroom, hot water and so much comfort. The house reef is beautiful to snorkel in and we did a few excursions with Rachid and definitely recommend, adventures garanteed ! Like all of Raja Ampat, the wildlife sightings were magical: sharks, turtles, rays, hundreds of fish & corals, birds... We even managed to spot the dugongs thanks to our drone!

Die Anlage ist sehr schön gelegen und wirkt wie in der Südsee, einfach schön. Das Frühstück wird auf der Terrasse des Bungalows serviert!! Das Essen ist sehr lecker und mehr als reichlich. Der Besitzer ist sehr kulant und ein ganz angenehmer Zeitgenosse!

Der Wasserhahn im Badezimmer unseres Bungalows war lose, das war aber kein Problem. Sonst gibt es für mich nichts zu bemängeln.

Super leckeres und frisch gekochtes Essen, auch vegetarisch. Sehr schönes Hausriff zum erkunden. Bungalows sehr gut ausgestattet und perfekt zum entspannen.

La calidez de Rachid y todo el personal hace de Friwen Mangrove un lugar absolutamente único. Rachid nos acompañó personalmente en todas las excursiones de snorkel, convirtiendo cada paseo en una experiencia memorable. Incluso mas: Rachid nos filmó bajo el agua en cada excursión y nos entregó luego los videos por WhatsApp. El lugar es agreste pero al mismo tiempo ofrece todas las comodidades incluyendo WiFi. Los precios de las excursiones mucho mejores que en otros homestays No puedo imaginar una experiencia más completa y agradable!!!
