Authentic Swahili style villa Milele House

This villa was gorgeous, in the historic Swahili style of Lamu. We had the loveliest time here. The location is relatively quiet though you are in the middle of town - we walked everywhere easily. There is also good Wi-Fi which was great for us as we were working remotely on some of the days. The rooftop has a lovely breeze and sitting area where the Wi-Fi reaches. There is also a very nice sitting area around the small pool. Jamhuri, who welcomed us on arrival, was friendly and easy to communicate with. With enjoyed every moment of our stay and I would definitely return again.

The pool looked like it could use a clean. The rest of the amenities were absolutely spotless!

Beautiful accommodation with extra spaces for relaxing; host was kind

Host was a bit noisy very early in the morning ; other guest created disturbances late in the night; bed was a bit too hard but all in all my stay was fine.

Breakfast is an additional charge but chef was good. Tea was exceptional.

Airport pickup/Check In. Despite request for pick up from airport, no one was waiting. Had to find own transport to property.

This is such an absolutely charming and very unique property. Beautiful authentic Swahili decor and architecture, incredible rooftop view of town and ocean, and a very kind, extremely helpful caretaker. It was nice to have access to a kitchen.

Another fan available in room would be great as it was very hot and the pool was under maintenance.

The design looks nice and that's it.

Wi-Fi didn't work. There was no hot water. The fan in the room didn't work on my first night. In the morning, local neighbours make breakfast on open fire under the windows and the whole room was covered in smoke. Close to the mosque - and loud calls to prayer start at 5am. It's very far away from the beach. When I booked, I didn't realised that this was the least favourite part for tourists to stay. A lot of mosquitoes. I asked for food recommendations but was told to go to any restaurant on the seafront. I wished I stayed in a different place.

Beautiful house, centric and very clean. Jamuhuri, the beat thing of the stay.
