Emerald Home Stay

Grosszügige, saubere, angenehme Unterkunft in sehr ruhiger Umgebung. Leckeres Frühstück, sehr hilfsbereites und liebenswürdiges Besitzerehepaar. Haben uns zwischendurch mit Früchten und Leckereien verwöhnt, unsere Kleider gewaschen und der Besitzer brachte uns am Schluss noch kostenlos zur nahegelegenen Busstation. Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt und können die Unterkunft sehr empfehlen. Haben auch die Zeit oben auf der gedeckten Terrasse zum Lesen sehr geschätzt.

Alles war zu unserer Zufriedenheit.

We had an absolutely fantastic stay here! Mr. Mahinda and his wife were incredibly accommodating, doing everything they could to make us feel at home. Seriously, nothing was too much trouble for them. We had hoped for a rooftop terrace, but it turned out to be a floor still under construction. No problem, though—Mr. Mahinda immediately set us up with two chairs on our balcony. They are such warm and caring people; it honestly felt like staying with family. The Sri Lankan meals were not only delicious but also incredibly generous. They also perfectly arranged our Wilpattu safari, plus a tuk-tuk and guide for our visit to Anuradhapura. And to top it all off, the couple drove us to Trincomalee in their comfortable car for the next part of our adventure. What a truly wonderful experience! We would absolutely love to come back here again.

Our stay was absolutely wonderful — the room was very comfortable and stylish, easily comparable to a 3- or 4-star hotel. We felt completely safe and at home. The location is okay, but what makes this place truly special is the amazing owner and their lovely family. We had a fantastic home-cooked dinner, and they even helped us catch our early morning train. As we left, they handed us a beautifully prepared breakfast box with a sweet surprise :) Experiences like this are rare not just in Anueadhapura, but all across Sri Lanka. Highly recommended — thank you for everything!

Owner is very friendly and helpful, the breakfast is amazing. The rooms are very clean and have a properly working AC.

こんな素敵な宿がこの世にあっていいのか？というくらい、まさにエメラルドのような素敵な宿。元銀行員のマヒンダさんご夫妻が経営するこの宿は、部屋は広くて綺麗、温水シャワー・エアコン・WIFIばっちり、無料のレンタル自転車完備、その自転車で遺跡を巡るのにも便利なロケーション。そしてなんと言っても食事が半端ない。残念ながら夕食はとれなかったが、スリランカ料理のフルコースとも言えるボリューミーな朝食、これぞスリランカという感じの手作りカレーのランチ。最後にはお土産のお茶までいただき、喜びを通り越して申し訳なくなるくらいでした。また、宿で紹介いただいたTuk Tukドライバーには、ガイドブックには絶対に載っていない場所に沢山連れて行っていただきました。どうもありがとうございました。

あるわけがない

Wundervolle Gastgeber, die sich außerordentlich bemühen und um alles kümmern. Unser Zimmer war groß, sauber und bestens ausgestattet. Das Frühstück war ausgezeichnet. Absolut überragend war das Abendessen. Sooooo lecker und mehr als reichhaltig. Ein grandioser Genuss. Vermutlich das beste Restaurant in Sri Lanka.

Die Dusche würde sicher besser abgelaufen, wenn die Schutzaufkleber entfernt werden würden.

The room is well equipped and the neighborhood is calm by night, we slept very well! The shower was not so clean, but the rest of the room was clean! The host and his wife are very kind and helpful. The food is generous and delicious, much better than some restaurants in the area!

Wir hatten einen unvergesslichen Aufenthalt im Emeralds Homestay! Bandara und seine Frau sowie die ganze Familie waren unglaublich herzlich und zuvorkommend. Wir durften die Fahrräder ausleihen und als wir komplett durchgeschwitzt von der Altstadtbesichtigung zurückgekehrt sind, haben sie uns Früchte mit Vanillaeis serviert. Das Frühstück ist sehr reichhaltig und weil wir nicht alles essen konnten, haben sie uns das für den Weg eingepackt. Die Zimmer sind gross und sehr sauber! Ich kann Emerald Homestay nur empfehlen und würde immer wieder zurückkehren!
