The Punchbowl Inn

Lovely location. Staff were pleasant and chatty. Good bar with decent offerings. The bathrooms have been updated recently.

The bedrooms themselves are a bit tired. We were woken up first thing by the staff talking about their personal issues loudly which went on for an hour or so, and we couldn’t sleep in as we had wished. The breakfast was fine, although items were missed despite us having to fill in a tick-sheet the night before to highlight exactly what we wanted. £160 a night felt a little steep.

It was perfect situation for attending a wedding at Askham Hall! The food was fantastic, both evening meal and breakfast. Lovely big comfy bed and modern bathroom.

There was very limited hot water and luke warm shower, the heating was also hit and miss. The room was a bit tired and could have done with a bit more cleaning.

Freezing room, heating didn’t work and bedside lights didn’t work.

Room was cold, heating not working but only in our room. No other rooms available.. Only Luke warm water for bath/shower

People was really nice and always very welcomed, we came along with a baby and there were no issues at all but just nice words around and always caring, everything was even settled and prepared for our little one, until the very last moment we spent at The Punchbowl Inn they were excellent and very nice. We felt blessed and grateful for such a great time over there.
