Hisar Guest House

Hisar and his wife luster were so nice and accommodating. The rooms were clean and spacious and the wifi was great. Good location in tuktuk and they have motos to rent. Hisar will give you a map and a briefing of the best spots to see nearby. I was very sad to leave :(

The owners were lovely, helpful and hospitable, bed was very comfortable, with the bathrooms being clean with the bonus of hot water in the shower, the wifi also connected easily we had an amazing view of the lake and could take a fresh dip whenever needed. Food was delicious and friendly price Easy to rent bike as well

Only downside was leaving

Good WiFi, very good bed plus side sleeper "sausage" 😉. Mountainbike rental 60K/day, they rent scooters/cars too. Hot water, lockable cupboard, big room in general with terrace and two chairs. Nice view of the lake, fairly quiet, nice garden to hang around and chill. Minimart just across the road, most restaurants walkable. Ferry drops you off right in front of guesthouse. No mosque anywhere.

Upon arrival (in heavy rain) no toilet paper, no towel, no WiFi code, no kettle or cup in room available. But trash can full to the brim. I had to go ask for all of this and carry stuff to my room. This really should be prepared BEFORE the guest arrives. They have a water dispenser, but it's hidden in their kitchen so you always have to ask and once I couldn't get water at 9pm. Please make the dispenser available 24/7 in the dining area. Took me 2 days to find the mirror in my room behind the bathroom door. Walls are also very thin to neighbours. Dining area not inviting/dirty, thus I didn't eat there at all. Menu also didn't look exciting. Handle of my bathroom tap was broken, no soap. There is a small building site next door (another room) which was not active while I was there. Bottom line: this guesthouse could be really good, but it needs more active employees (owner was away) and better maintenance and garden cleanups.

Spent two perfect and happy days at Hisar's guesthouse. Mama Evy and Hisar were very helpful. I went to the wrong pier and Hisar came to take me by bike and helped me plan my day trip. Mama Evy is an amazing woman who has brought up the children and cooked delicious meals. Chatting with them really felt like home and I will come back again in the future! Thank you for your care

Mama Evi and Hisar are incredibly welcoming, knowledgeable, and warm hosts. The accommodation is spotless, very comfortable, and perfectly located right on the lake. The convenience of ferry pick-up and drop-off from the doorstep is a wonderful bonus. The food at Hisar’s is absolutely delicious, especially banana pancakes ;). Highly recommended for an unforgettable and relaxing stay!
