Bracken's Retreat

This was perfectly located and the perfect setup for what we wanted. The room has made excellent use of the space available and is well equipped. Tea and coffee was available as soon as we got there - kitchen has 4 hobs, a microwave, a toaster, a kettle, a fridge freezer, crockery and cutlery. Will definitely try to book again later in the year or early next year.

I don't think we're allowed to leave this blank so will say in the interest of balance, I bashed my leg on the side of the bed as it was a bit tight to get round. Non-issue really, place is great.

Hosts were communicative, kind, approachable and responsive. The space itself is well-kept and tidy, bright with lots of natural light. The blackout blinds were great to have at night. Located on a quiet side street meant no noise overall, and certainly not in the evenings. The kitchen had all the essentials I needed. Their listing description is accurate. It was also nice to have a hairdryer. Wifi was great connection with no problems at all. Always had hot water in the bathroom. Lovely to have some outdoor seating to savour tea on. It’s a great spot for a quiet getaway for one person or a couple. I very rarely write reviews, only when an accommodation is exceptional (in this case!) or abysmal (which it is definitely not!)

Beautiful place, well looked after, very neat and quiet area.

Nothing

It was clean and functional, nice shower, fridge and freezer. The garden area is also lovely and the water feature could be meditated on for hours. The owner popped in to find out how we were fixed for leaving, rather than scowling and muttering darkly about timings. Very friendly, and the arrangements for gaining entry were similarly relaxed. Solid WiFi is great given the reception issues in that area. Great value if you just need a base rather than a more hotel-like experience for which you would pay a lot more.

Not a lot! The TV reception can glitch out, which I suspect is an area problem. Mobile reception is pretty patchy in the Fowey Valley system.

There was everything we needed for our stay including some basic food essentials, and it was a good spot for touring by public transport and a starting point for walks. It is near to a minor road but there was little traffic and hardly noticeable in the double glazed property. Nice to have the outdoor seating. It was seven minutes walk from the station, the last bit up hill, good exercise !

A convenient, well-equipped ground floor apartment, close to pub with restaurant, express bus stop and minutes from the town centre. A kitchenette at one end and a shower room at the other plus the space to relax provides the ideal base for a holiday break for two.
