Walnut on Russell

• The location was fantastic — less than a 10-minute walk to the town centre, and only about 5 minutes down the road there were plenty of great food options, including food trucks. • Despite being close to town and next door to a backpackers, the area was quiet and peaceful. • The welcome book was full of helpful information and local advice, and we loved the personal touch of learning about the walnut tree (and being left some to try!). • The cabin itself was stylishly and thoughtfully designed, with excellent temperature control and a cosy atmosphere. • The bed and sitting area were both very comfortable, making it a relaxing place to unwind after exploring. • It was great having access to laundry facilities, which came in handy during our stay. • The toiletries provided were great quality, which was a nice touch. Overall, it was a fantastic stay in a beautiful location, and we’d definitely stay here again next time we’re in Wanaka.

• The accommodation isn’t serviced, which is a small inconvenience for a 3-night stay — a quick tidy-up or a bin change would have been appreciated.

The unit was beautiful, cozy, super clean, and comfortable. You have your own parking spot and the welcome book gives you a lot of useful info. Check-in info was very easy and was sent in a timely manner. We got to meet the owner Dan right before leaving and it was such a pleasure talking with him.

The only things that were a bummer were: - the unit we had was ADA compliant so the bathroom was too and when you were taking a shower water was all over the bathroom floor - I think that's a New Zealand thing but there are no napkins or paper towels in the kitchen so it is a bit awkward when you are eating and can't wipe your mouth or hands. But not a deal breaker. You just need to be prepared.

It was very windy during our stay and there was a weird rattling noise that I suspect was the loose corrugated roof of the next door backpackers

Place was beautifully built.

Good location. Quiet but close to everything. Nice cabin. New and clean. Perfect stay.

The accommodation was lovely, it had everything we needed in a central location.
