Central location Recently renovated

Wasn’t told which room or that it had communal spaces. The lounge key left on top of the door opened room 2 bedroom! Not advertised as communal as we have 2 young children, not suitable so we didn’t stay there after 3 hour drive!

Location very central. Room comfortable, new and clean

Had a wait over an hour to gain entry. No facilities in room , communal bathroom, kitchen and living room

The fact that I could cook my own meals

The fact that the property wasn't what was advertised. You put up an apartment for rent and what you get is a room with every facility shared. The place wasn't cleaned regularly except a new visitor was coming. Terrible customer service.

If you're fine with shared toilets - there are nine rooms here, sharing four toilets (two with showers, one with a bath) - then this will, at some point, be great. It's a new conversion, so more or less everything is new.

As of March 2023, it's not ready to open yet. Amongst other issues, the fire alarm thinks that there's a fire happening on the property, so it's been silenced. My late father was in the Fire Service for many years and this alone would have him closing the place down. If it turned out that silencing the alarm meant that new alerts didn't alert residents, he'd want prosecutions. In any case, it's totally unacceptable, especially as there is only one exit for residents: if there's another fire exit, it's not signposted and most of the windows would not be easily accessible for any rescues. Everything else feels like a quibble in comparison, but.. one of the showers isn't sealed properly - someone using it sent water down through the light fittings in the kitchen below. The water came out easily enough: the lights weren't in their sockets. Similarly, the power sockets in the kitchen were not fixed to the wall, one fridge door didn't close properly either and a bunch of other things don't quite join together properly, including some of the walls. The bedroom was just like in the photos.. except that the window didn't close properly, the radiator needs bleeding (the combination of this meant that the stairs were warmer than the room), and there were also lose power cables coming out of one wall and the (possibly live) lamps did not have bulbs. Another light above the bed had no switch anywhere I could find. Speaking of not being able to find anything, I looked everywhere for a bin without success.
