Villa Olde Ceylon

The place is really beautiful and charming, the owner is really nice and helped us to plan the next stop of our journey. Rooms are nicely decorated, there is also a small pool, but it was too cold for us to try it out - next time :) We really enjoyed our stay there.

Everything was great. But if you have lots of (heavy) luggage, please note that you need to use a few staircases to access some of the rooms - but I am sure, someone will help you.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at Villa Olde Ceylon with my family, and I can’t recommend it highly enough. This charming boutique hotel is a true gem, beautifully decorated…. The owners have clearly invested a lot of love and care into this place, continually updating and enhancing the decor, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere. The hospitality at Villa Olde Ceylon is outstanding. The owners are incredibly friendly and attentive. They quickly arranged for a cheap tuktuk, when we wanted to go out for dinner. Moreover, the value for money is excellent. With such beautiful surroundings and top-notch service, you truly get more than you pay for.

A very cute hotel decorated with a lot of Sri Lankan curios. Lovely spacious room with a super shower. It’s very clean. Hosts were lovely and very friendly.

Stunning setting in a beautiful garden. My room had a comfortable bed, and was clean and beautifully decorated. Complimentary bottled water in the room. My first hot shower in 2 weeks. Nice fruit and eggs for breakfast. Kind and helpful hosts.

Unfortunately the wifi isn't much good which was a shame as we needed it to check in for our flights. There isn't a restaurant, contrary to the description on booking.com.

A little oasis hidden in a great location in Kandy. Lovely room next to the pool. Welcoming and helpful host who arranged for us a transfer to Ella last minute and tuk tuk trips within Kandy as we needed them. Tasty breakfast to top it all! What a great address, warmly recommend <3

Couldn’t not say!

One of the prettiest little hotels I have ever seen. If I lived in the tropics, this would be exactly the way my house would look. Every little space is very thoughtfully decorated with handmade art and wood carvings and plants. Breakfast was equally lovely and plenty. Little tip: the hot water is usually solar powered, which means that on a cloudy day it can be that there's little or no hot water in the shower. But you can just tell the owner and he'll flip a switch to turn an electric heater on and within 30 minutes you'll have more than enough hot water to shower as long as you want. The rooms are absolutely beautiful with well working AC and a cosy little balcony that looks like it is in the middle of the jungle. The pool is on the colder side but once you are in it is really lovely, especially after a hot a sweaty day around Kandy. There is a laundry service 10 minutes walking distance away. Bed is very comfortable. Payment is Cash only! Lots of narrow staircases, so be prepared to carry your luggage up and down this lovely little maze of a hotel. Like in every major city you'll need earplugs to sleep comfortably. There's sounds from the nearby road and the people that live around the property.
