El lugar, en mi opinión, no es apto para familias, no tiene ventanas es como en una “cueva” sin circulación de aire, que para un turista en adaptación a la altura, es doblemente malo !!! No lo recomiendo .

The quick response I would get when I requested something.

The place was super cold and the heat and the hot water were rationed. We were provided with 1 heater and had to request an extra one at extra charge, that would only turn on at night, since they were remotely controlled. Sometimes they would forget to turn them on or would turn them off early and you would wake up to a freezing house. There was also no hot water in the kitchen and the bathroom sink, so it was hard to clean dishes. Moreover, there were no basic supplies like dish cloth, salt, place mats and brooms. The walls were super thin and you could hear everything from outside. Furthermore,the main bedroom overlooked a pile of garbage where dogs would congregate and bark all night long.

At first glance, this apartment seems underwhelming - perhaps a bit small for two people. BUT, it does all the basics really well: (a) bed is comfy with high quality blankets - and the thick walls of the apartment modulated the temperature. Even though we were here in late June (coldest time of the year), we were always warm in bed at night; (b) Internet: strong, reliable, consistent - every apartment should have internet this good; (c) Hot Water: the shower was amazing - always consistent hot water with great pressure (just be careful when tiles in bathroom get wet they are VERY slippery); (d) Check-in: we arrived at 11:30pm and the electronic safe box was easy to find, and our keys were there - no need to meet/wait for host; (e) Communication - the owner (and his wife) are always available via WhatsApp or the Booking.com messaging platform - we had responses within ten minutes! The host is doing a lot of work to improve the apartment - a really sweet guy who is easy to work with and always willing to listen; (f) parking: free and easy right on the street - and safe. It is a very big street with not much traffic. If I had a car/SUV I would stay here just for this (easy/free/safe parking); (g) the apartment is on the second floor: you have to walk up about 10 steps to reach the front door. This is great! We have stayed in other apartments in Cuzco where we were on the 5th floor - that is a killer at this altitude. And to emphasize again - the apartment, though on the smaller size, has really thick walls - that really helps modulate the temperature especially at night; (h) finally the apartment is on a main street and a 20 minute direct walk to the main squares (or $3 USD Uber)...on the street are a decent mini-market (water; bread) and laundry (about 20 soles for 4-5 kilos). So good location too!

The apartment is on the small side - though it has a second bedroom, it really is sufficient only for a child up to about 10-12 years old (just enough room to get into bed but that's about it). We used the second bedroom to store our things; the kitchenette has a great hot plate (boil water and make scrambled eggs), but forget about cooking anything (no stove). You can bring food home from the market and re-heat in microwave (good and new microwave). This place is best for a couple as once out of the bedroom (we did not watch TV in bed, but there is a TV), about the only thing to do was sit at the kitchen table, which was fine for us as we worked on our laptop computers (great reliable and consistent electricity - new outlets). So outside of the space, this apartment is great value. One last tip: we found 98% of the restaurants in Cuzco way overpriced for the amount of food one gets (and the quality ranges from good to much more often just okay). We recommend walking to the main market and having breakfast there: a soup with chicken or pork, noodles, rice and or potatoes will cost about 17 soles. The chicken soup here (Caldo de gallina) is really good. There is also stuffed peppers available (about 5 soles each) - they are deep fried and very good. The better restaurants start at about 50-75 soles per person (main + juice/water and perhaps an appetizer) - and they vary in quality...the further away from the main squares, the better price/value. I was here in Cuzco in 1996 when the only sound you heard was the wind...sadly Cuzco has become a real tourist trap - tourism has been a great boon to the economy of the locals, but changed this place forever. No cars in 1996...now the smoke (and noise) from vans, buses, cars...and the innumerable foreigners makes it a place to stop for a day, then move on. That is probably the biggest negative we can think of...

The location is absolutely phenomenal: Walking distance to the downtown and a number of attractions. Plenty of restaurants, bars, markets and laundry services all within a few minutes' walk. The hosts were excellent and responded very quickly to all questions. The apartment was roomy and comfortably housed our family of 5.

The apartment got cold at night (outside temperature fell to around 3-4 C) . Although there was a portable heater, it's just the one unit for the entire apartment. We placed the heater in the kids' room, and kept both the kids room and the master bedroom doors open, to share the heat. Also, regulating the shower temperature took some getting used to.

Great location, great communication from host who went above and beyond to make our stay very enjoyable
