Nothing
GBIt was the perfect tiny but well appointed base for exploring the Uists and connected islands for 4 nights, located on a peaceful freshwater loch and just one mile from the RSPB reserve. A really lovely part of N Uist and so restful. The cabin itself (Cygnet View) was incredibly cosy and we especially loved the bed. All the utensils you need, and just a lovely little haven to spend time in, listening to passing rain on the roof and watching the swans come and go. This place is all about the atmosphere. Appreciated the walking guide on the coffee table too as well as a few snacks in a basket, which was helpful as we arrived on a Sunday running a little low on supplies from 10 days of camping prior. Really dog friendly (no extra charge) but remember there are many birds and rabbits around so we had to keep a close eye on our little friend! I really appreciated that it was more unique than the now standard glamping pods that are everywhere. Really glad we just stayed put for 4 nights and explored by car, rather than moving about between places, as all the islands are within reach so it felt more restful. The Uists are my fave Outer Hebridean islands now!
Nothing we didn't like! The shower is quite low power and pressure and the radiator didn't seem to work so the small bathroom did get a bit chilly but it was really fine for us.
GBThe view, cosy and location
The bed was very soft
GBBeautiful location overlooking a loch. Very nice, cosy, smart interior. Fully equipped for a short self catered stay.

GBThe views from the elevated location were amazing. Plenty birds around if you're into that and of course swans on Loch Eaval too, hence the names of the lodges. If you know where to look and have good binoculars you can regularly see deer out on the moors too. Everything needed was inside the lodge: amazing what can be fitted into a small space!
Leaving Uist!
