Hars Garden Sumba

Las vistas eran increibles sobre todo para la salida dem sol y la puesta de sol. Hars es muy amable y atento y nos preparó un desayuno y cena deliciosos. El lugar es ideal para desconectar y disfrutar de la natrualeza de Sumba.

Tener en cuenta que el agua funciona con placas solares por lo que a primera hora el agua de la ducha sale fresca, aun así disfrutamos muchísimo!

The isolation, the views, the wild sunsets. The usefulness of scooters being on hand. The knowledge of Hars and his suggestions of what to do. The fact that distanced to places of interest were reasonable. For a few days chill ... Great

Apart from breakfast, food was a bit of a problem. The place had nowhere to prepare food. While solar power is an excellent idea, teething problems mean occasionally there was no power if Hars wasn't there to start the generator. The breaking of the peace by small children ... an age limit might be an idea.

Hars est une personne passionnée qui a un rêve qu’il tente avec force vigueur et conviction de mener à bien. Construire une oasis de sérénité sur le terrain dont il a fait l’acquisition. La détermination de cet homme souriant est aussi impressionnante que la vue qu’il offre à ses invités. Ses petits déjeuners sont délicieux, élaborés avec ce qu’il récolte de son travail. Nous avons également eu la chance de goûter au dîner 2 soirs et à chaque ce fut excellent. Ses cabanes son feu de camp sa guitare tout est parfait si vous venez chez lui pour trouver un peu d’évasion par rapport au monde en effervescence dans lequel nous vivons. Merci Hars pour cette accueil et ses 4 nuits fantastiques hors du temps.

Il faut clairement venir chez Hars comme dans un home stay et non un resort. La literie n’est pas optimale, le confort de résume à son strict minimum mais là n’est pas l’important dans ce havre de paix

Nowhere to put clothes

Waanzinnige locatie met prachtig uitzicht. Hars is een proactieve, creatieve, enthousiaste man, die een heerlijk ontbijt met producten uit eigen tuin voor je klaar maakt in de ochtend.

Het beddengoed en de klamboe waren iets klein voor het bed. TIP: neem oordopjes en een slaapmasker mee. Wij werden in de ochtend vroeg wakker van de haan en de ochtendzon en konden gelukkig gebruik maken van beiden. Dit hoort natuurlijk allemaal een beetje bij de ervaring.

Hars is a very nice person, always willing to help and share his knowledge. He goes out of his way to make sure you have a good time on his side of the island and is very proud of his land and the organic farm he is building. He cooks dinner for you if requested, for a reasonable price and you get whatever is ripe from his garden. The food is good and plenty. We were a bit scared of the lack of ac, but indeed it was not necessary. Wind runs through the cabin and keeps it fresh at night. A net over the bed will keep the mosquitos away. It is also located quite close to a stunning hill with a great view and some hidden waterfalls Hars might share with you. It is certainly a different experience and one worth having.

Remember there is no wifi and even the data connection is really spotty so be ready to be away from the world for the time you stay there. We missed an additional spot in the place to just hang out and read a book as our cabin had only the bed or the floor, but we also never asked, so there might be some corner of the property we might have missed. Also be aware there may be a few wild visitors, even inside the cabin. I guess it's part of the experience.

The most extraordinary and beautiful stay we’ve experienced on the island. Hars welcomed us with care and showed us his beautiful garden and unique plants that are growing there. He is a genius gardener that makes everything grow effortlessly on the lava rock (Sumba island is a pure lava rock). Hars made us organic meal with what was grown in the garden. Our view from the palapa was a killer! So as the night sky! Hars made us campfire, played guitar for us and showed us how to use tripod for night photo shooting. It was incredible! Hars and his amazing garden will stay in our memories forever. 🙏🏻❤️ If you want to relax and truly enjoy the nature, you must stay here.

A truly unique experience. A breathtaking view from every bungalow. The owner Hars has created an organic paradise where 80% of all the meals come straight from his garden. Hars and his Japanese wife are fantastic hosts and organised everything for us including transport to and from the airport , bike hire and three organic meals a day. On top of that we got to learn lots about real organic farming techniques and the special island of Sumba… thanks Hars we will be back.
