Loved everything

Best ever location, right beside Minster and the house next door was on the ghost tours. What a bonus!! House was quirky and old but with lovely modern kitchen and bathroom and furnishings including crockery and glasses. It had everything we needed and more including a garden we could use. Clean too. Shower was best I have used for a long time. Anyone going to York needs to consider this property.

If I hadn't been fit might have struggled with all the stairs on a three storey house. However it was clear on booking what to expect. I'm really struggling to find a negative with this house.

Very central, cute and cosy with character. The cottage had a beautiful view, which made me step back in time. It had everything you needed, especially if you're planning to stay a few nights. Would recommend to anyone! I miss it!

The incredible location of this quirky period property made us forgive any moans we have. The house itself we absolutely loved right from the start even with its sloping floors, creaky boards, curling staircases, cracked ceilings & very comfy bed even though I needed steps to get into! So high. We even got used to the crowds of people frequently outside the windows taking part in walking tours day & night. It was well equipped & really had everything we needed for our stay. It was light & easy to heat, even the huge bathroom with fab walk in shower & well equipped kitchen. We’ll certainly look forward to staying here again.

Oh my this lovely house is in need of some serious TLC. The handle on the kettle is still stuck with sellotape which another reviewer had commented which felt dangerous. The decoration & especially the paintwork is not only badly chipped (I know, getting cases up those stairs isn’t easy) but in places quite large areas of paint are missing completely, making it look quite shabby. Things like the bookcase in the lounge with cardboard propping it up on the sloping floor has missing backing felt & pieces of veneer missing, which again just make it look sad, old & shabby. BUT there are areas which could be easily & quickly improved by a decent clean. Dust & dirt on the doors & several skirting boards & especially on the panelling on the inside of the bathroom door (& the sides of the toilet) looked I’m afraid like they had not been cleaned for a very long time.

Central location in the heart of the city centre.

Dated furniture. Lamp broken and sellotaped together. Kettle handle broken and sellotaped together.

Close to facilities . Cosy would stay again

The window cills inside were very dirty .splashes on kitchen cupboard .

It was so cute and cosy and central to everything.

Only thing was sofa was a bit small and not comfortable. Other than that it was absolutely perfect.

Quirky property in a stunning location right next to York Minster. It suited our needs perfectly. Great kitchen, amazing view.
