Mocca Guest House

We love how the staff treated us, especially the owner, Annie. She was responsive to all our questions. We were very lucky that Kawah Ijen reopened the day of our stay and I first heard the confirmation from Annie. The location is already near from the port so if you will be going to Bali after staying at Bayuwanggi this is a good option. The hostel also arranged the Ijen tour for us. We will surely stay here again if ever we comeback.

Lovely guesthouse with lovely hosts! We stayed overnight here whilst doing the Ijen sunrise hike which was organised through the guesthouse. Everything was super smooth and breakfast was made for us on our return. The hosts even sorted out a last minute taxi for us when the trains were down! Absolute life savers!!

Mocca guest house is warm and inviting. There are comfortable spaces outside of the bedrooms for you to relax and then bedrooms are a very good size. The property is down a quiet street so there is no noise at night to keep you awake. The family were so welcoming and cooked us a delicious breakfast every morning. We visited when mount Ijen was close but you can also book a tour through the guest house. I would 100% recommend!

Nice room, clean, air conditioning, nice location in the city but a little hard to find because google and booking adress is not good, it leads to other side of the road. But we asked locals and they told us where to go. Nice women working there, breakfast was pretty simple - pancake and fruit.. Good basic room to stay at for visiting Banyuwangi or going to Ijen (which is closed now).

Great for one night stay after getting a long bus. Didn’t check in til 1am which was great and staff were nice. Room and bathroom was clean.

Slightly difficult to find. Doesn’t take you to it on google maps, taxi driver had to ask some locals to help.

The family running the home stay were delightful, so friendly and really helpful in arranging shared tours up Mt Ijen at nighttime.

The most amazing place i’ve stayed since travelling, I have never been so looked over. Everyone caring for the house were kind, meals were amazing, Ijen tour through them was cheapest you can get and the breakfast included is better than many restaurants. Thank you for being so accomodating and making our stay so special!

We were happy with everything!

Annie was really friendly and helped us with a driver for our onward trip to Bali which was really cheap compared to others. The guesthouse is in a nice location although a little difficult to find for the Grab driver we used from the train station.

The twin room our daughters stayed in was very small and one of the beds was a single on the floor.

Everything! The house is so lovely and homely, everything was very clean. The host and her family were amazing, nothing was too much trouble. Annie let us check in early after a sleepless night following our Mount ijen tour, and after a lovely warm shower she made us a delicious breakfast! We had the best time hanging out with Annie’s lovely family, and were kept entertained playing with her beautiful children. Thank you so much for everything, we couldn’t recommend this place enough and will definitely return in the future. Easily our favourite place we’ve stayed in Indonesia so far!
