The outside

After staying there and looking back at the time there was more things that come to mind. Lift button was missing so you had to stick your finger in (health & safety hazard) if you use the doors on the stairs there stiff and small width Under the bathroom vanity was disgusting, dirty, dusty and not nice - bathroom floor hadn’t been cleaned. Bathroom bin is a small peddle bin - the inner bucket was just thrown next to it. Bath had water in so had to try and clean before using. We was situated on the second floor on road side, well the stick and peel window cover was on the outside of the window and had started to peel so anyone could see in if light used in the dark. Breakfast - well I paid extra for breakfast, wasn’t until we went down in the morning to find it wasn’t a breakfast, more like toast, a bit of cheese and ham and some burnt small croissants. We couldn’t leave quick enough to go and find a cafe. The bed - well one side was slanted so much you had to hold every muscle to make sure you don’t fall off. Resulting in my back absolutely killing. Noise notices around the building advising of outside noice - not a problem at all it’s City Centre. You don’t expect adult grown men shouting the door numbers out loud at 1am in the morning. I also asked at time of booking (well I was asked if any special requirements) I advised it was a trip to see a show for my husbands birthday and if they had any banners / balloons for the room would be great. Instant response back advising yet this would happen and if I had any more requests to let them know. Was there banners and balloons- NOPE! None at all. I booked here because of a recommendation from family and location. Don’t think I’ll stay here again.

I have been staying here since 2003 and it's my first choice, being cheap and cheerful, a few minutes from Lime Street Station and very centrally located. The hotel is basic but meets my requirements, it is being re-furbished but not completely done yet; however the lift now sort of works which is handy for luggage. The staff always give a warm welcome and deal with any problems efficiently.

I don't have any criticisms but if you want high-end luxury this is not for you BUT you will pay twice as much elsewhere in town and might not be as well looked after !

Fantastic location- next to train station & 12- 15 mins walking off Cavern Quarter; bathroom in room was spacious. Good option for money for 1- 2 nights (short) stays.

Room 208, old window should be fixed so it can open properly. No bin in the bathroom for rubbish. Twin beds too small/ narrow.
