Ella bay homestay

This is a true Sri Lankan homestay. The host family that own this Homeatay are so welcoming, from the moment you arrive until the moment you leave they will look after you. We were there during the New Year and we felt like part of the family. The food was wonderful and home cooked. The homestay is surrounded by jungle, Monkeys can be seen playing in the trees. We highly recommend this homestay.

Local breakfast was divine, especially the honey and coconut rotis! The mother and son that own this place were incredibly helpful and accommodating.

Best price and super nice hosts. The breakfast was included and big, more than I could eat. The host was very kind and helpful, he even offered me a tuktuk rides for arrival and departure, though the City Center is walkable.

Amazing place, perfect location, not so far from the centre and with spectacular views. The family is really friendly and always there to help and have a nice conversation. The son has a tuk tuk and he gave us a free ride from the centre to the house. There’s a bus stop right next to the entrance where you can take direct buses to the waterfalls and the south coast if you go to beach after Ella.

We had a wonderful stay at Ella Bay HomeStay . Himasha, whose mother Kusum runs the HomeStay, is a fantastic guide, full of good ideas and very knowledgeable. He also runs a tuk tuk so rides any where are at your door step. Our room was clean and had a powerful fan and a good en-suite. Beautiful view from the terrace where Kusum presented us with a fabulous breakfast, the best we have had. Highly recommend for a truly authentic SriLankan option hidden away from the noise and hustle of central Ella.

We had a lovely stay in Ella. Very friendly owner and family. Breakfast was huge and excellent. And we also loved the company of house cat Pudi.

Little bit humid, but it rained a lot while we were in Ella.

Host is nice and gave us good tips on where to go and what to visit. Thanks to him we visited one of the most amazing temples I have ever seen. He also drives a tuk tuk so can arrange trips for you. Location of the place is very good. No view. Breakfast was very good and plentiful

Room is mouldy and a bit unclean. The smell of mould was very strong.

Quiet, owner was fun and caters to your needs. Spacious room, nice hot shower, and breakfast was great and huge.

Nothing... but you do need transportation to get there from the city since its on side of the mountain. But, owner does have a tuk tuk. And buses do come by offen.
