"Very good hotel to stay in central Oslo"

8.0

Due to a slight mix-up, I had to stay at two rooms across my week's stay at Revier. While everything is done through an app, communication around this issue was excellent and it was swiftly resolved as promised. The room I stayed in on the first night because of this was not the class of room I had paid for, but it was perfectly clean and comfortable, and the ensuite shower was a good size. I was able to move into my proper room from the second night onwards, and this was an excellent size with plenty of facilities, including a fridge, an oven, a hob and so on. More than enough utensils, plates etc supplied as well. The blackout curtains kept light out perfectly, the bed was very comfortable and the soundproofing was excellent, so I slept well every night. The hotel is also very well-located in central Oslo, with the Akershus Fortress just a minute or two walk away. Luggage storage is also provided, as well as a separate room to dispose of all rubbish and to resupply on essentials if needed.

While I am sure there would have been a legitimate reason for it and it was communicated well, it was a slightly disappointing start to the stay to end up in the wrong room and to effectively be downgraded for one night, and to have to redo check-in on the app for my actual room from night 2 onwards. The app mostly worked fine, but was occasionally slow to open inside the hotel. And it closes after each use, which is annoying when you have to have it open to get through the main door, into the lift, then into the hallway with the rooms and then into your room itself. The hotel itself doesn't offer breakfast, instead offering you codes/vouchers to pay for breakfast at a cafe immediately across the road. Unfortunately, choice at this cafe is very limited and was not at all to my tastes as well as being expensive for what it is. Other than that, there were a few other minor issues: For some reason, the smaller room I stayed in on the first night had a larger bathroom and ensuite shower than the bigger room I stayed in for the rest of my stay. The ensuite shower in the studio rooms is absolutely tiny and hence quite uncomfortable. The room was consistently very warm and getting the temperature to go down at all was very difficult. When turning on all the lights at the same time from the control panel in the room, for some reason the bathroom lights would always turn off again almost immediately on the first button press, before staying on the second time onwards. The light bulb and shade positioned above the table in the room was unnecessarily low, so as a tall person I ended up banging my head on it almost every time I got up from the desk.

"Good location but not worth the price"

5.0

Super located, close to many attractions. The room and lobby are aesthetically pleasing.

Our room was looking into the patio, we had no privacy at all. You have to close the curtains all the time and then you’re feeling like you are in a bunker. The room in general was too warm, you cannot open the windows to get fresh air. Very bad storage possibilities, no drawer in the bedside table or wardrobe.
