"Lovely property, very warm and comfortable"

9.0

The view of the rock of Cashel was stunning, the room beautifully presented, clean and tidy. Water, kettle and coffee machine in the room. The bed was very comfortable! The shower pressure was brilliant. The furniture was beautiful. The living room downstairs with the fireplace is a lovely idea very clean and comfortable, warm and welcoming. Cashel is a lovely town about 8mins walk away downhill, more coming back after dinner and a few drinks in the local pubs! The house is beautiful and very tastefully renovated. It was so cozy and warm. Lots of CCTV so very safe. The rooms are huge. Everything was very clean.

There was no internet. I appreciate it's an old house with thick walls and they're not long post renovation, but the TV didn't work and the WiFi didn't work. The man did try and connect his phone to the TV to make it work but it still didn't stretch. But was very kind of him none the less. I was really looking forward to relaxing after walking back up the hill with TV on and a gin and tonic. I didn't have very good 5g either at the time for some reason and I a,m on roaming so it really wasn't massively convenient especially as I was relying on the promise of internet for medical reasons. (Libre family app) The front of the toilet needed some attention to detail, I cleaned it but there was some suspect dusty brown yellow dribbles down it. Everything else was spotless though.

"Great location for Rock of Cashel"

7.0

Room was comfortable and spacious and clean. Bathroom was a very compact but that was OK for one night. We were the only guests and didn't get to meet the host so had no face to face contact with staff other than the lady who was there cleaning on our arrival (who was very helpful). Location is great, a short walk into the village and to the Rock of Cashel.

There was a very bright green light on the ceiling (an smoke detector maybe?), bright enough to disturb my sleep.

"Pleasant"

7.0

The rooms were spacious and lovely. Big comfortable beds with good Egyptian cotton sheets, coffee machine etc. A very special shout out to Mai, who was running the hotel, she was brilliant and lovely. She made my stay special, the breakfast was lovely and she couldn’t do enough for me - seriously 5* for Mai. Friendly warm and welcoming.

The door handles came off four times during my stay, the doors do not shut properly. Whilst the rooms have been done up and modernised, it is still evident it is old and worn and with things such as the doors I think this is a key element of safety that needs to be addressed. It is on a really steep hill (clue is in the name I guess!) but it made travelling into town difficult for events / evenings (I was here for a wedding). If you are wearing flat shoes you will be fine up and down the hill but it meant sadly I had to pay for several taxis up and down in my shoes and with my luggage. Whilst I enjoyed my stay, it was comfortable and Mai was perfect in hosting me, when I compare it to friends who stayed in the hotel in town for similar price I am not convinced of the VFM.
