Homestay Hoàng Vũ

As soon as I arrived on my motorbike they asked for the money for the room. I still had my helmet and gloves on after a pretty long ride. They could have given me a few minutes! The private bungalow with en-suite was good with a nice view. I tested the mattress and it was awful, very old, it had springs poking right to the surface and the corner was torn completely open. It was the bungalow furthest to the right. I asked for another room and they moved me straight away to a room with a good, albeit typically firm, mattress. The bathroom was nice. There was no drinking water in the room and I went to get water and he asked for money but told him I wouldn't be paying as any accomodation should provide at least one bottle of free drinking water. The dinner had a lot of dishes but that included pretty ordinary things like rice crackers, a few cold fries, pork so tough I only ate one piece and spat the second peice out, chicken, morning glory some other overcooked veg and a few other things but it was unappetising. The rice was warmish so I mostly ate that with soy sauce. But you don't know until they put it in front of you, do you? The food was mostly cold even though I was there at the same time as other guests so it wasn't as if I had arrived late or anything. It was the poorest meal with small portions of any place I stayed in. It may seem that I'm a fussy traveller but with 5 weeks travelling the North east of Vietnam on a motorbike, and my third trip to the country, this was overall at the bottom of my list. If they had been a little less pushy about getting money, changed that terrible old worn out mattress and had served food that was at least warm it would have been a lot better. The room itself and bathroom were nice. The dorm rooms were very close to the road and so they may have been noisy with trucks honking their horns on the bend in the road. It wouldn't take much to improve this homestay. I'm sure that there are better places.

Not a peak time so it was very quiet. Everything was great, especially the grilled chicken and fish and the veggies lol. A great mini getaway

Although it is relatively far from town, you can order dinner, which is very plentiful.

After a long day on motorbike, this place was an oasis. Beatifull spot, very welcoming and kind owners, cold beer (more than a few for us :)), and great dinner. The view on the mountains from the cottage is just an icing on the cake :)

The family is really nice and friendly. The dinner is very delicious. However, unfortunately it was served almost cold.

Rooms are dirty and the mattress is very hard. The rooms definitely have to be cleaned properly and sheets should be on the bed.

Very serene place surrounded by beautiful pine forests all around. Mother nature in this form at its best. Well kept a place for a comfortable stay. Air is the cleanest if not pure. I highly recommend the place to those who cherish the nature without least disturbance. Food is excellent, special and enough in quantity with local brewed whisky to add the flavor and satiate your taste buds. On top of everything, the man at the helm is a humble gentleman who makes it sure that you leave the homestay as a satisfied and happy visitor with an urge to visit again. A very humble Host.....!!!

There is nothing that I did not like. It is difficulty under given circumstances of very short stay to know about things that you don't like when everything is given attention to.

Bed was a bit hard. The room was not dirty but could have been a bit cleaner.

This place is beautiful! The dinner for 100 vnd was amazing and rice wine is yum! Rooms with a view were great and the restaurant area stunning. They have a couple of dogs and couple of beautiful cats! Breakfast was 60 vnd for pancakes and coffee. It was super peaceful here and we were very happy it wasn't a loud karaoke place as this would have ruined our stay entirely.

One of the cats was annoying a tour guide. A staff member grabbed it by the scruff and was quote rough- sad. There were 2 other couples here with a tour guide. It seemed the guides were really trying to push them into singing. Luckily they only sang for a short time- this noise was loud and frustrating. Hard to hear and thank God it ended early. Some music is fine but guides should really not push party scene at each place. This place would be ruined if tours went here.

Amazing peaceful location, looking over the mountains and valleys, secluded but really easy to find.. Stayed in the huge, very clean traditional style dorm with only 2 of us sleeping in there.. Fantastic family meal in the evening and a great nights sleep with super thick and comfy duvets.. Blissful..
