It was a lovely area to stay in and was mostly clean, the issue was outside that had lots of cigarette butts and rubbish around the back area. The second grey sofa bed was very uncomfortable and could not be sat on no matter slept on.

"Really dirty property, disregarded owner"

The only positive thing we found about the property was the fact that heating had a control where it could be set to go on and off at certain times, which was handy for us to wake up to a warm bedroom and arrive at a warm property.

Me and my partner were honestly and truly disappointed, as most reviews were excellent. However, that was not our experience, sadly. (see the pictures) At arrival, we noticed the property had clearly not been clean. We found a huge white splash stain on the TV, all surfaces covered in dust or had stains (tables, kitchen counter, even bedroom bedside tables), floors had stains (sticky massive stain in the kitchen floor), stains on the couch and pillows, visible signs of dust and crumbs all over the carpet, the kitchen cupboards had food left overs (like sugar, rice and other nasty stuff all over), there was black sludge in the bathroom sink/tub, cigarette and other type of butts right outside the patio door and the bins were so full, we barely could fit our rubbish. We took photos of everything and contacted the property owner straight away. They only reply we got, was that the property had been cleaned the day before, they inspected it and thought it was fine. At this stage, we felt really uncomfortable. But couldn't afford to pay for another accommodation, so we bought cleaning supplies to be able to use at least some of the areas. We pulled sludge and hair from the bathroom and Dettol wipes we used for all the surfaces were black after use. We complained directly to Booking.com to get at least the money back from cleaning supplies and even then it's chocking how the owner did not bothered to send an apology message. All we got was the standard exiting message to inform us we must leave by 10am... Also, the WiFi was quite temperamental. Note: There is a big sign at the entrance stating people need to leave the house clean. In all our experiences using Booking.com or Airbnb, we never experienced such a dirty property and disregarded owner, that wouldn't even offer for a cleaner to come over. Which is a shame, as we have family in Newcastle, so it would have been nice to have a place future stays.
