Mount Nevis Hotel

Everything was fabulous, from the staff to the accommodations, the food and beverage offered at the hotel to the grounds. The pool overlooks the ocean and faces toward St Kitts, so it’s quite a stellar view.

The peacefulness of the place, the view of the mountain and sea, the breakfast and everyone of the fruits was sweet as if specially hand-picked and selected with great care

Glorious heavenly setting, amazing views to St Kitts. Lots of nature around- monkeys, hummingbirds. Very quiet and peaceful. We sometimes had the pool area to ourselves which was a treat. Food in the restaurant was excellent but it was often very quiet when we were there so lacking in atmosphere and almost felt a bit awkward for keeping the staff there! Desserts are particularly delicious though. Restaurant staff very friendly and obliging, especially Erika and the young guy whose name we have forgotten due to jet lag (sorry!). Rooms are pleasant and very clean. We had problems with broken hairdryers and air conditioning which was a little frustrating, spending our honeymoon reporting things, but they did get resolved very quickly. The power to our room seemed a little dubious, cutting out at times and my hair straighteners wouldn't work (I've never had this problem before). We struggled to use the TV as didn't have the right log ins (as we're British) or subscriptions. We didn't want to watch much TV but it was a little frustrating not to be able to put local TV on. It's definitely worth having a car as the hotel is situated a little far from most sights. Car hire is cheap and driving is easy. Derecka on reception arranged this and several taxis for us which was great. It really is a beautiful and peaceful setting.

Quaint, accessible but not over the top.

The superior oceanview suite is excellent. Be cautious when booking - double check direct with hotel to ensure you get the room targeted. Booking.com conveys "Loft" to hotel which isn't same as superior suite. Would definitely stay again.

Real Review: The hotel is positioned on 20 acres of gently sloping hillside with magnificent open views of the Atlantic Ocean, and St. Kitts across the channel. There are 5 buildings that house the rooms, along with a separate larger complex which contains the the lobby, restaurant, pool, bar, and common space. All of the rooms have some type of ocean view, but those facing the ocean side of the complex have full views from every room as well as the patio/terrace. The complex is quiet, due to the spacing of the buildings, although its is an easy 3 minute walk from any building to the pool area. The location is removed from town/beaches/activities/sights. The words, peaceful, quiet, calm and open views come to mind, when I recall our 10 day stay. Transportation is needed to explore the island. There are rental cars available, not part of the hotel, but can be arranged on site. The rooms are large and very, very clean. And everything works as it should: sinks, toilets, hot water refrigerator, toaster, oven, air conditioning (a rarity in the Caribbean). Kitchen was adequately stocked, but Nevis is know for fine restaurants,, so we only cooked breakfast/toast/fruit/coffee. Towels, sheets, and bathroom products are very high quality. Daily housekeeping is AMAZING. Spotless each day with fresh everything! Very good value for the money. Restaurant and bar are open all day, which is good if you want to relax and stay on property (we had only breakfast and lunch). A very first rate, professionally managed property with excellent staff.

Not a complaint, just a reality: Part of the reason that the property is so peaceful and quiet, is that it is removed from traffic/shopping/other activity. Either of the 2 driveways into the property are a mile long. A walk to the nearest beach (Lovers Beach-Fabulous) would take at least 30 minutes. A very elegant sea-side restaurant (Drift) is a 45 minute walk. Plan your transportation and activities accordingly. We had a rental car and found that driving from the hotel to any other location on the island was easy, although on multiple occasions we saw other guests from the hotel waiting for the bus, and provided rides. A car is recommended if you plan on being active and exploring.
