Star Castle Hotel

Best views. Best dinner ever..

The location was amazing, providing wonderful views over the bay. My room was spotlessly clean & has all the facilities you might need. Being in the ramparts of the castle, it was extremely private and quiet - perfect for a great nights sleep!

There was always a member of staff to contact. Food was out of this world and made my 5 year old daughter - who recently has been diagnosed with Coeliac disease feel like she could eat what she wanted. Very accommodating. Thank you.

It took a little while to locate our suitcases and after breakfast there was someone cleaning our room as they thought we had checked out.

Great room and view, gardens were lovely.

Not much. There were hooks on my patio doors but nothing on the door ls to hook them on to to stop them blowing in the wind.

Location is amazing

The sink in bathroom was dirty around the taps and the shower tray / floor has some previous water damage marks as-well which gave the bathroom an interesting smell and the bedroom window which had rust water damage and marks on it. The grapefruit at breakfast was gone off (the juice was fizzing / fermenting). The snack on my room was not GF even though I specifically mentioned I was GF. The last negative point was the stranger with a clip board at breakfast asking what my days plans were and leaning in a little too much without introducing themselves by role or name as a member of staff. On the 2nd morning the same thing and I asked who he was (diff guy to 1st morning). When checking out the receptionist didn’t ask if I had a nice stay or to have a safe onward journey, it was quite unfriendly. No one asked how my breakfast was or if I wanted more coffee or whatever. Last point to mention is that on being shown to my room the person who showed me didn’t explain any basics like what time breakfast was or that the hotel had a pool. I never complain and I am grateful to be able to go on holiday but please treat solo guests with the same level of respect and attention you would to any other group.
