The Dabbling Duck

This pub was a great little gem in Norfolk as I travelled up to my cousins wedding in Godwick Hall. The staff, the room, the facilities, the toilets, shower, food, the everything was just perfect!! I even made temporary friends with some of the regulars as I was waiting on a very delayed taxi and when I left we gave each other a hug goodbye lol. Highley highly recommended. I was a little bit apprehensive about the price when I booked in june for a December stay but trust me its worth every penny!!!!!!! Oh and the duck pizza! Oh My God, do not dare go here and NOT try it! Its amazing!

Beautiful pub. My room was absolutely gorgeous. Beautifully decorated, with unusual extras such as a free bottle of homemade raspberry vodka. and an actual cafetière and ground coffee

My room was hot... turned off the radiator in the room, but couldn't turn off the towel rail which was boiling! Because my room was hot, I had the window open a little to sleep, and there was a lot of noise with people leaving the pub directly below my window, at around 11pm. This is to be expected with a pub I suppose, but there was a group of staff chatting loudly for some time too, till I stuck my head out the window and asked them if they could move down away from my window. I brought this up with the owner, and he said that door should have been locked after 10pm- and people would usually leave by another door

Schönes Zimmer, tolles Essen und sehr freundliche Atmosphäre. Lovely room, wonderful food and very friendly atmosphere and staff.

The room was fantastic, the pub is great, the staff are very friendly and welcoming. The food is delicious.

Vibrant busy pub. Lots of dogs which we don’t mind seeing. As was Halloween 🎃 youngsters trick or treating. Staff very pleasant and accommodating. Lovely view from our room of church and the village green. Fresh milk available in a fridge in little snug area. Nice touch a sample of homemade vodka . Bed comfortable.

We aren’t spring chickens and the staircase up to rooms was bit challenging. As was busy had to park at far end of car park, which had no lighting, which we thought a bit dangerous. Room supposed to be king room, wasn’t very spacious but cosy. Rather expensive for what you got with no breakfast included. Was bit disappointed that not more fish dishes on dinner menu, especially being near the coast. I did have the mussels which were very good.

We travel a lot and this is easily the best place we have stayed for a very long time, I advised the staff before travelling that it was my wife's birthday and they upgraded our room to a gorgeous room in the adjacent house that had a bath and the biggest bed ever. The pull up shutters ensured privacy for the bath and the also absolute darkness and silence at night and they kept the heat in. The food in the restaurant was amazing with everything tasting better than the last. The staff were all incredible and engaged with us to ensure everything was as we liked it without being pushy. We have already decided we will be and I would recommend this to anyone who wants a base for touring the area.

I cannot actually think of anything that was less than perfect. We didn't get to take advantage of the self catering facilities or the guest lounge provided as we had a pretty full itinerary. We will be sure to take of advantage of this next time.
