Talalla Bay Beach

Talalla Bay Beach far exceeded my expectations—something I don’t say often. This is the kind of place where shoes are unnecessary, and the beach is just steps away from your room. I was lucky to stay in a top-floor room with an unrivaled view of the bay, falling asleep to the soothing sound of waves each night. The hospitality here is exceptional, radiating the warmth and authenticity of a true Sri Lankan welcome. From the moment we arrived, the host and staff made us feel completely at home. The beach itself is breathtaking—perfect for a scenic run, with sun loungers thoughtfully provided under large umbrellas. While the sea isn’t the best for swimming, it’s still great for a refreshing dip or catching a few waves. Dining here was a highlight. Thomas, the chef, owner, and host, curated an incredible menu that left us impressed, and the service was flawless. Breakfasts were equally outstanding—among the best we’ve had in Sri Lanka. This property is a true find, offering incredible value for money and an atmosphere of tranquility and romance—perfect for couples seeking a quiet retreat. Without a doubt, one of our best stays in Sri Lanka!

Absolutely Nothing

A true gem. The place is secluded enough to basically have a private beach you share with only a couple of residents of the beach house, each room has an open view of the seaside. At the same time the central location allows you to explore south of Sri Lanka from here. The host is kind and happy to help with anything. Breakfast is huge and delicious, they serve great dinner food as well. We loved everything about the place.

No complaints at all

Our second time here, it's a slice of paradise. Amazing location, fantastic staff and excellent room with a super comfortable bed. Thomas the owner is a brilliant chef who prepares delicious filleted fish dishes, amongst many other options. We really appreciate the free coffee/tea and bottled water that's provided downstairs, and the free sun loungers right outside on the beach are perfect. We can't wait to return.

Beautiful beach, unspoilt, magical. Not much in the way of entertainment, good for relaxing and chilling out. Food was excellent, big breakfast, and dinner both nights was fabulous and great value for money. Hosts were really great.

Food was some of the best we’ve had in Sri Lanka. We ate in the evening and breakfast was amazing .

Room is brilliant, large bifold doors giving uninterrupted views and sounds of the gorgeous beach and waves. Mosquito net on the bed means open windows 24/7 - best sleep ever. Fantastic food beautifully prepared. Unlimited tea, coffee and cold water always available. Great sunbeds and umbrellas. Everything is perfect.

Nothing negative

Best place we’ve stayed in Sri Lanka so far! We loved staying at Tallala Bay Beach with the hotel being right on the beautiful beach and the rooms having a sea view. Thomas and his team were really welcoming, friendly and always happy to help with any queries. The whole atmosphere of the hotel was calm and relaxing, and the decor and art on the walls wonderful. Breakfast and dinner were amazing - such great fish dishes!! All was perfect, would recommend staying here 100% and would love to come back ourselves one day. Thank you!
