La Serra Olivetti

Please refer to photos and see if there is anything to like. we have already sent a letter of complaint to booking.com with many other photos illustrating the poor state of this property. upon entering the apartment the smell of mould is immediately aparent. we are waiting for booking.com to answer our letter of complaint and resolve the matter. we have never had cause for complaint like this over the many years we have used booking.com . it is definitely sub standard and over priced.

Lo stile del appartamento una nave su terra ferma

Mancava il copri divano, il frigo vecchio scaldava molto e faceva poco freddo

Le propriétaire m’a donné de bonnes informations pour le check-in, y compris une bonne vidéo. Donc c’était facile d’entrer la chambre. Le logement est situé dans le complexe Serra qui est une architecture moderne du 20ème siècle et qui est devenu un peu en ruines. Mais dans le logement, la chambre était grande, propre et bien équipée. Il semble que l’architecte ait conçu ce bâtiment à l’image d’un vaisseau spatial, mais je pense que le logement était comme une cabine sur un navire flottant sur le canal. Je ressens l’amour du propriétaire pour Olivetti. Je ne savais pas que l’entreprise avait commencé ici et que cette ville est un site du patrimoine mondial. Je pense que ce bâtiment n’est pas enregistré mais dont la maquette de ce bâtiment a été exposée dans le bureau du centre de visite de l’Unesco. C’était un bon séjour et une très bonne expérience pour moi.

Nach der perfekten Video-Einweisung zum Appartement bin ich erst einmal eine halbe Stunde staunend durch die Wohnung gelaufen. Dies ist wirklich eine Perle der Architektur und einzigartig in ihrer Art. Dem Gebäude selbst sieht man die Spuren der Zeit an und es ist zu hoffen, dass es erhalten bleibt. Das Appartement selbst ist gepflegt und sauber, Klimaanlage, Waschmaschine und Flachbild-TV inklusive. Es ist sicher nichts für Besucher, die eine perfekt-steriles Touristendisneyland erwarten. Ich hab‘ mich sehr wohl gefühlt und in meinem Umfeld jeden neugierig darauf gemacht. Die Kommunikation mit der Gastgeberin war sehr gut, ich wäre gerne länger geblieben.

In een architecturale bezienswaardigheid te kunnen overnachten is speciaal, zelfs als deze wat versleten is. MAAR...

het is niet fijn als de inkom, gang ernaartoe in heel slechte staat is en niet onderhouden. Ook binnen in het appartement is weinig gedaan om je welkom te voelen. Slechte matras, een douchecel die naar sigarettenrook riekt, 1 wijnglas te vinden in een appartement voor 2 enz.. .Alles gedaan om zo weinig mogelijk in te investeren maar veel uit te halen. Heel spijtig! Zwaar overgeprijsd.

J'apprécie beaucoup le bâtiment construit par Olivetti. C'est un lieu mythique et fonctionnel. Idéal pour des vacances dans le Piémont. En plein centre-ville d'Ivrea qui est très agréable. Les montagnes sont proches et les possibilités de visites de la région sont nombreuses.

Real piece pearl and icon of Architecture history-/ There is hery few comparable on the world. It stands emblematic for a time when people still believed in the power of community. The love in detailing is remarkable in the exteriour as in the interiour of of the apartments. May the building with its great public rooms will be rediscovered Hope the building with its great public rooms will be rediscovered and reactivated by the people of Ivrea as true centerpiece of their community and shine bright again!

The flat is in the town centre with great choice of restaurants and shops. The host was incredibly responsive and went out of their way to help. Designed in the 1960s for the Olivetti firm, the building features a unique typewriter-inspired shape and was the work of renowned architects.

The exterior of the building could be better maintained.

Exceptional design and architecture of a once abandoned utopia of Olivetti . This room is a masterpiece that should be preserved and maintained without any adaptation or change in aesthetics.

Some details from 70s are fading and would deserve a bit of care. Hopefully the rest of the complex will get restored to its original glory one time.
