Jabal shams domes

At first site it looked amazing. The bed, the concept is really great. We also were pleasantly surprised that there were only 3 domes so really not busy and nit too noisy….

We had to wait till eventually somebody turned up upon arrival. Two phone numbers were displayed to call but no answer. We were two couples so we had 2 out of 3 domes.one in our dome the bathroom smell was revolting. We are easy- going people but this smell was unbearable. Our friends did not have this pbl. The employee does not speak any English, he called- we think - the owner and this is the way we communicated. We noticed that cups and kettle was there but the coffee jar was empty in both domes. I gave one empty jar to the employee and hoped he will bring us a full one. He said oke and that wad it. We never got anything back filled in. In the dome there were two chairs- one with a faulty system which resulted in us injuring ourselves. We reported it and are wondering if this has bern fixed - we moved the dome after one night upon our request due to the smell and the damaged and dangerous chair- see the pictures. The shower and the wc is in the same place do once you get showered, the entire floor in the bathroom is wet. We asked for sth to dry the floor but heard oke and never got anything to dry the floor. When we were allowed to move ofter one night ( we stayed 2) we had no towels - we asked for them but heard again oke and did not get them. Our friends gave us one of their two…. Such a pity as otherwise it would have been great.

Lack of tea and coffee.

There are only three domes on the property. The domes are well equipped and clean. The breakfast is served in a resort nearby (2 km further along the road). There is no staff on the premises, but they do respond well to whatsapp messages of you need anything.

The place is truly unique with a stunning view of the mountains, perfect for discovering the Jabal Shams region and the hike that leads to the canyon. For the domes , the beds are very comfortable, and the garden around the outside is very well designed. A big thank you to the dome owner, he accompanied us during the hike and gave us lots of advice and contacts for the rest of our trip. If you’re looking for an atypic place to stay during your time in Oman, don’t hesitate!

The location was great!! The globe was a fun and unusual option and the place was very well kept and pretty. There was a very good restaurant just around the corner.

The wash-basin was OUTSIDE the room, which in the cold mountains, is maybe not a great choice and should definitely be written somewhere. It had a lot of charm, but it is important to know, I think. Also, the point of the glass globe was a bit missed since the view was obstructed by a wall and the top was covered so you could not see the stars.

It’s an experience ! Beautiful dome , just as shown in the pictures . Warm inside , which makes it comfortable especially when the mountains are freezing ! Amenities are clean , meals are arranged efficiently. The host is very graceful as well .

Location and the host was very friendly

The dome was well-equipped with modern amenities while still giving us a cozy, off-grid vibe. The panoramic mountain views from the large windows were breathtaking. Our host Fahad was exceptionally friendly , attentive and generous. Don’t miss the sunset balcony hike—it’s magical ! Also, pack warm clothing as it can get chilly at night. The food was delicious.. One of the highlights of our trip was our host Fahad, who went above and beyond by taking us to multiple sunrise viewpoints. Each spot was more breathtaking than the last, and witnessing the sun rise over the mountains was an unforgettable experience. If you're looking for a unique, serene, and rejuvenating getaway, I can’t recommend this mountain dome enough. It’s the perfect escape for anyone who loves nature and wants to recharge in a stunning setting.
