Great location on the sea front

It was very hot with a poor quality mattress. The breakfast didn’t start on Saturday until 8:30 which is quite late.

Waking up to the beautiful views across sandbay was so lovely. The area was quiet and peaceful. I'm so glad the windows opened wide enough so I could let the cooler air blow in through the night as I stayed during the heatwave. The staff were fantastic and how they managed the cleaning through that heat, I don't know, hats off to them. Very clean and pleasant decor, and I will definitely book here again. The ladies where so helpful settling me in. Few issues but sorted straight away. Fish sandwich was soooo good just right. Really lovely evening staff chatty just great service. Nice location for a bit of piece.

Bed was really uncomfortable, dipped felt the springs, metal edging never slept on such a bad bed, basicly didn't sleep well at all!! no mattress protection or topper either. fan completely useless so felt like an oven. Contintal breakfast very basic, toast, yoghurt and cheap cereal. When telling the manager about the bed really didn't seem to care. Real shame.

Lovely hotel with a great team of friendly staff. Nicely decorated room. Reasonably accessible via stairs. Lovely large parking area and great bar area and outside seating. The whole hotel looked newly upgraded and was very smart. Nice breakfast served by hardworking staff with a smile in very tough conditions.

The room was extremely hot and there was no fan and the windows barely opened. We had to borrow a fan from reception but it was so clogged up with fluff that it made little difference. There was no information in the room about wifi etc and only in the morning after suffering an extremely hot uncomfortable night did we discover that there was a catch to open the windows more. Some information in the room about this too would have been really helpful. The bathroom window was in full sun and there was no blind to cool the room down. There was limited sockets to plug the fan in where it made any difference to us. There were no fans in the eating area of the bar and having a meal was also very uncomfortable. The road was very noisy at night till late with revving cars racing by, not the hotel's fault but it wasn't a peaceful stay sadly. We did stay during an exceptionally hot spell and would have liked to enjoy the sea view we paid for, but had to keep the curtains drawn at all times unfortunately. There was very little on the menu for vegetarians. A bean chilli only which was not exactly appetising during such hot weather.

The location

When we arrived, nobody was available on reception. On check in we were told our room was in the annex. It looked derelict and ready for demolition. Admist of uncut jungle. The wardrobe had no hangers but due the nails and screws in the walls from having no pictures hung clothes to the wall. Whole place was filthy a nd unclean.

Free parking, clean towels daily if wanted, courtesy hot drink tray replenished. Great breakfast. Comfy beds/pillows. Great location for a wedding.

The rooms although refurbished let themselves down by not having little things attended to. Hardwood doors have been glossed painted therefore looked messy. Shower tray silicone needed replacing. Patch of damp mould on ceiling in bathroom as no fan for ventilation. Several other things just needed some attention, door lock awkward. Just a small amount of attention to make a big difference. TV with netflicks - excellent added bonus. Need signs from parking area to direct to reception.
