JD und sein Team haben alle unsere Wünsche erfüllt, wir fühlten uns wie bei sehr guten Freunden. Die von JD zubereiteten Abendessen für uns und die anderen Gäste waren eine echte Bereicherung.

Historical beauty

The only thing we liked was the food served for our breakfast.

Upon arrival the owner JD was not very welcoming. We were looking forward to having dinner at the restaurant that was displayed on their website but were told that we were too late because the restaurant closes at 6pm (we were told this while checking in at about 5:45pm). So we had to get Uber eats for dinner. The bedroom was very hot and only had 1 standing fan to cool the entire room. No AC. I ran a bath, looking forward to some relaxation, but just a few minutes later... ALL the water and drained from the bath (even though I made sure the plug was in). So I had to run a bath again and could only have a very quick wash before all the water drained out again. The toiletries that were provided were shocking, there was no shampoo, no conditioner, and the shower gel that they did provide was a large bottle that obviously all the guests share! The refreshments in the mini fridge were highly priced (R20 for 1 can of coke). The coffee sachets that they provided could not be opened easily, we had to go to the kitchen to find a knife, just to have a cup of coffee. In the morning we asked for breakfast at 10am, we only got our food at 10:20am. Also no one to help with luggage and broken extention cords in the bedroom. No hooks for hand towels in the bathroom

This property had massive potential it is absolutely beautiful, they could do so much it could be a platinum property with the right hospitality management team.

Poor maintenance and lack of understanding of general hostility processes. Had to beg for towels. The lady that stepped in while chef was out did a much better job. An alarm that went off twice in the server room on two nights kept us awake. A clean operational hot tub on the patio that you walk past would have been nice.

Even buiten de drukte van Stellenbosch verblijf in een authentiek historisch gasthuis met grote kamers en hoge plafonds. Ruimte om even rond te lopen en de eigenaren laten je graag de boerderij (wijngaarden en varkens) zien, inclusief wijnproeverij!

Ik heb genoten van het gezonde ontbijt (met heerlijk vers fruit en yoghurt), maar de andere opties (engels, quiche, bruchetta) waren heel zwaar. Een ontbijtoptie als continental breakfast had ik ook op prijs gesteld.

We had a wonderful stay, really down to earth place, beautiful and unfussy. We loved it

Breakfast was excellent and a very convenient location to get to wine farms.
